Metaphor mania has magically morphed into sizzling similes and I am now using amazing alliteration.
We have been talking all about poetic forms in Language Arts class. Rack your brain and give an example of each poetic form listed below. (This blog does not need to be 100 words)

Metaphor: Theresa's irrate mother was a tornado whipping through the house and sending everyone into a frenzy.
Simile: The ice cream was like a drop of heaven on my tongue.
Alliteration: Tony tugged tirelessly at tiny twigs twined together with tinsel.
Onomatopoeia: Crash went the car as it banged into the light pole.

Metaphor: The girl running through the park was a cheetah sprinting across a plain.
Simile: The snow on the ground looked like frosting on a birthday cake.
Alliteration: Sally sucked on strawberry suckers while sketching the scenic sunset.
Onomatopoeia: Drip, drop went the rain as it splashed on to the pavement.
Metaphor: The sugar is grainy sand
Simile: Dead as a door nail
Alliteration: Gabbys grapes grow in the green grass in Green Bay
Onomatopoeia: Bang went the firework as they went in to the night sky

Onomatopoeia~ The water faucet went drip...drop...drip..drop.
Simile: She was as smelly as a garbage can.
Metaphor: She was a hopping bunny.
Alliteration: Danny Dinky dreamed about Dunkin’ Donuts.
Onomatopoeia: The cat hissed at us when we called his name.

An example of a metephore is:
The airplane was a bird in the sky.
An example of a simile is:
The girl was as cutie as a kitten.
An example of onomantopoeia is:
Hiss went the snake as it slithered away.
Simile: She looks as cold as ice!
Metaphor: The flower was a ray of sunshine!
Alliteration:
1) Tommy told tongue twisters to Trisha Timken.
2) Huge, Happy hummingbirds hum at Holly Huckle hopelessly.
3) Karlee and Kim kiss kind kangaroos and koalas.
4) Valerie Vixson visualizes violet valentines.
5) Betty Bumper begs by Boomer the boxer.
Onomatopoeia:
1) The car went ZOOM past my face.
2) The Baby Bumble Bee Buzzed by Bobby Brim. (this is also an alliteration!)
3) Grrrrrrr! Said the dog who was being teased by Ms. Sue.

Metaphor:
The sun's rays burned like a hot stove.
Alliteration:
Friday fish frys with "Finnish friends"
Metaphor: I was a sick dog blowing into tissues one after another and drooling all over.
Simile: My nose looks as bright as Rudolph’s nose.
Alliteration: No nose knows tissue like my nose knows tissue.
Onomatopoeia: A hack, a sniffle, and a cough are all I got for Valentines Day.

Metaphore; The turtle was moving as slow as a snail.
Simile; When I went down the hill on my snowboard, I felt like a jet plane whipping through the air.
Alliteration; The busy bug burried his beans behind the biggest bulldozer bucket in the ballpark.
Onomatopoeia; Buz went the bee as it flew into my ear.
