1. ALWAYS make friends with/be nice to the teachers. It’s never bad to be teacher’s pet!
2. Always be prepared and on time – you don’t want a demerit!
3. Always behave and don’t talk a lot (especially in ART!) :)
4. TURN IN YOUR ASSIGNMENTS! And if you don’t, stay in for recess – even though it is torture! :)
5. Start all of your big projects (quarterly project/book report) early – it’s easier to do that, have teacher’s be happy, and not have to worry about them for the rest of the quarter!
6. Never cheat or copy – you can get in LOTS of trouble! :)
7. ALWAYS DO YOUR BLOGS!! They can really make your grade go down! Try to do it before Monday so you can get extra credit.
8. Always participate in everything – that usually counts for a lot in the grade book!
9. Always try to get extra credit (especially in art) – it helps a lot and is usually pretty easy!
10. DON’T BE A TROUBLE MAKER!! :)
11. Clean out your locker and binders (in certain classes) every once in a while – it keeps you organized! :)
12. Try to keep as many sticker charts until the end of the year – then you barely have to do any work! :)

Just have fun!! You’ll have a great time if you take these tips into consideration!

1. Have fun next year in 6ht grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1.Always remember paper and a pencil, it is nice to have a binder with folders, and extra paper.

2.Always finish your assingments on time if they are late you have to stay in for recess, and if they are two days late you recieve a demerit

3.Always work ahead on your quarterly projects for art, and book reports for language art, which is english. You can tell if someone took there time or if someone did not take their time.

4.Keep your locker clean. I would sugggest wooden locker shelves. My locker shelves always collapsed, and it was pretty much impossible to find things in my locker. The only bad thing about having wooden lockers is that you have to make them.

5.Bring a snack. It is a long time between breakfast and lunch. The teachers will let you eat it. In 6th grade you can eat a snack in 4th hour. Make sure it is healthy though, sometimes when I ate unhealthy food I got a big headache

6.Mrs.Walkers tests may seem over whelming at first, but if you stady really hard they are so easy. I was really worried about my first test because it was alot longer and more complicated then any test I had taken in elementry.I studied hard and I got an A+.

7.Know your sceadule. The first few weeks it is very hard to ajust.I reccomend having a sceadule in your binder to tell you when you have your classes. You don't want to be late for your classes. Especially art, you get a demerit if you are late.

8.Adjust to the new demerit system. You have to be very careful, they give demerits for alot of things. If you get three demerits, your teacher calls and notifies your parents. If you recieve five demerits you get a detention. As long as you try hard to behave you probably will not get a demerit.

9.Work on your living stones ahead of time. Living stones are sort of like community service projects. YOu need four in the year. It is very important to get them all done. It sounds easy but you can easily forget about it and with two weeks of school lwft you have three living stones to do.

10.Have fun! If you have fun in school, middle school will seem so short. There are so many good teachers, and they make class so fun. Plus if you don't enjoy school usually it is hard to sleep, and you get big headaches.

GOOD LUCK IN 6TH GRADE

1.) As a very MESSY sixth grader, I think getting locker shelves with drawers work well!
2.)PENCILS ARE ESSENTIAL! PENCILS PENCILS PENCILS! Your friends dont like giving them to you!
3.) Stress comes naturally with middle school. Make sure you find some time to do your spelling activity and relax for a bit.
4.) Miss Miller loves to sing. If you get in trouble you have to sing along to Twinkle Twinkle. (DONT GET IN TROUBLE!) We <3 you Miss Miller! :-)
5.) Living Stones are fun, but they can be a pain in the you-know-where. Get living stones done ASAP! Mr Roeske would be more than happy to help you out.
6.) If you're a destructor like me, you pretty much randomly fall in the hall, books fly, and your sitting on the floor, rubbing your bottom. Be nice, help other destructors pick their books up.
7.) God knows kids LOVE gum. Why school bans it we still wonder. Ive gotten a demerit for chewing gum. So, please please, PLEASE! dont chew gum in school. Save the orbit for later.
8.) I lOVE to lose my assignment notebook. Im a pro at it. Make sure you know where it is at ALL times! Think of it as your kid/pet/something you'd like. You lose it, your pretty much in deep dog poo.
9.) My cousin once said, "In middle school, you find out who your real friends are." Ive learned you do lose most of your "friends" in M.S. Be nice to everyone!!! Even though a few solid friends will stick with you in M.S.
10.) I cant seem to express this enough. Most kids take on a HUGE responsibility, SPORTS. Yes, I know, Shaquille O' Neal this, Venus Williams that, we all want to be famous sports stars. Most kids get over their head and sign up for volleyball, cross country, track, basketball, poms, softball, and tennis. It eventually sucks you in! The homework piles, then you get stressed. You have a test tomorrow, and basketball and poms, and volleyball today. Dont go overboard.

TO ALL:
MIDDLE SCHOOL MEANS MORE RESPONSIBILITIES! YOU NO LONGER ARE LED AROUND LIKE A LITTLE PUPPY! AND I QUOTE: GOOD LUCK TO THE EXTREME! I hope you pass!

Miss Miller,

Sincerely,

Never be late for art class. Take notes that are as crammed as possible while at the same time you can understand them. Don't day dream, everything the teacher says is somehow relevant, even if it protains to something that appears to be non topic relative. Carry pencils in your pocket if you have them it saves a lot of trouble always knowing your pencil is somewhere you won't lose it (unless your pocket happens to hold a microtransporter that runs on auto and has mutiple issues as in glitches in the subatomic relays). Be nice, being kind to your teacher gets you assurence that you will at least get a smile every day, also don't anoy classmates, your teachers are justified to through you in the stockade for that. Finally, don't throw things unless your insane peroid.

oh yeah, and don't spell bad like i do.

Hey Miss Miller,

Don't know if you'll see this but just wanted to say hi and wanted to know if you're having a great summer! Hope you are I am going to miss having you as my teacher. Well that's about it I am very bored so call me up and tell me something I could do. HeHeHe See ya in seventh grade(even through I won't have you as a teacher hahaha) Hope this is 100 words.

Your student that is bored,

Laine J. Tomesch

P.S. My dad says hi!

Anonymous said...

Dear Laine!

I hope you are enjoying your time in Canada, despite your boredom. Perhaps you aren't even there yet, but I would guess that you are. My summer has been nice. I have been on the mission trip to Mexico (which was wonderful), camping, and spending a lot of time reading. Maybe you should take up some reading as well. Try reading the City of Ember (Becca liked it as well). Are you doing any swimming? My perfect summer would be spent at a house on a lake, where I could just swim all day long, with short breaks to read!

Talk to you later,
Miss Miller

Anonymous said...

Dear Miss Miller,

I tried reading and I have read a lot. I will go to the Library soon and pick up the city of ember. I've tried to go into the lake but as soon as you reach 4 feet in it's like 40 degrees below zero. I haven't gone to Canada yet because my cousins from Germany haven't arived yet and their the ones who take care of me when I am there. I wish I could've gone to Mexico. Well I better get packing we're leaving tomorrow for our vacation to Bermuda.

Laine
