New Rules
Imagine you are stranded on a tropical island with your classmates. You have no supervision, no rules, no leader, no McDonald's etc... How would you choose a leader? What jobs would you need? What rules would you have? What if someone broke the rules? (There was a brief reality t.v. show like this called Kid Nation)

I would choose a leader by seeing who has leadership skills and is a good person. We would need jobs like farmer, builder, chef [I would volunteer for that job] and a fire builder so when a boat comes by they see it. I would have there be 4 rules one would be only sports being played unless you are working. Plus, you could not call anybody a name. I also think that everyone should pray and go to church a lot. One other rule is you have to who is ever in need, you have to help them in every way and no matter what.
I would choose a leader by a vote. Whoever has the most votes would win, but you can’t vote for yourself. We would need a farmer, food collector, water gatherers, builders, cooks, and people who can make fires, so we can stay warm. Rules: #1: you should pray to God almost every day. When the builders build a church we can go and worship him. #2: Think of someone else before yourself. #3: Workers work all week except for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.(If the workers choose to work on a weekend that is OK too.) #4: Respect others. #5: every Friday night it would be game night, so we would pick a game that we want to play, and of coarse play it. #6: We would eat three meals a day. If someone broke the rules then they wouldn’t be able to participate in Friday game night.
Argh, this is defenitely a great question/post. The prospect of being stranded on a tropical island with my classmates would drive me insane. I would propose we break up my class into several sub groups with no absolute ruler. For the rules, jobs and other things I would have to think about that long and hard, creating a government is no easy feat.
I would set up some hard tests and whoever does the best can be the leader. Fishing would be the easiest thing. Making many shops like soap shops,fish markets,clothing shops[everything would be free]. We would have one band that plays on Saturday. We would have a church to to on Sundays. Painting classes would be taught,cooking and building, soap making would be other classes. Sports would be volleyball,soccer and ping pong. Rules would be: no skipping church,no skipping classes,you must take a class. That`s is how my kid nation would run[i want to start one].
If I was stranded on an island I would…
Take charge right away. I would have everyone show off their skills. Then I would take the people who were strong be people who carry things and enforce laws. These group of people would be the red crew. Next I would put the people who had camping/ fires shelter and food smarts into one group. This group would be named the orange crew. The people who were good at/in school would have a choice- did they want to become part of the group of government or be in a separate group? If people didn’t like the way I was running things they could hold an election. Rules would be tricky-the government officials would get together to decide the rules. Then we would write them down on bark/ carve them into the bark. One of the rules would be- each day you get assigned a job. You work from sun rise until sunset or until you got done! The Orange Crew is responsible for food operations. Also the punishment for breaking the rules would be- the person would have to do another person’s chores for the day. There would be an alphabetical list (last name) for the person to take the day off.
I would choose a kind and brave person to be our leader. We would need to have a builder, a farmer, and a scientist. I would have 4 rules
1: You have to be a Christian and always pray to God and nobody else.
2: No teasing or picking on someone.
3: You need to play in at least 3 sports.
4: You can not push anybody into the ocean while they are sleeping.
If you break the rules they may be called names or teased on for a week. Also if you break the rules, you could be put into jail on our island.
If I was stranded on a island I would take charge to see all the peoples skills like farming for food people clothing to make builders and cooks. My rules would be you couldn’t say anything mean to anyone. Would build a church for the island and every Sunday you would have to go. You can only pray to God. You would have a chose to go to school up to college and you have to be a republic and if you broke one of these laws you would have to do someone else job for two whole weeks along with your job. That’s what I would do.
Besides the fact that I think everyone would go crazy I t6hink we would succed. The way we would decide who would be our leader we have three tasks testing their Strengh, Trust and intelligence. We would have a vote on who would judge the tasks. Some jobs we would need were chef, farmer, medical people, carpenter and cleaners. Some rules would be Worship the God almighty, no killing stealing or lieing, No work on Saturday and Sunday and a half day on Friday. If someone broke a rule the leader would role The Dice of Punishment to decide what your punisment is. That is how our city or clan would be like.

Breaks would be at mid day. When the sun was the highest and brightest. We would stop working when the sun would be half way between the highest point and the ground. If you dozed off and received three warnings, you would be responsible to do the laundry for the village. There would be no money. If you were caught stealing someone’s possessions, you would have to do something special from the person you stole from. You would also be assigned extra responsibilities.

We would elect our own leaders by nominating people who we think would do a good job. We would have people that search for food. We have to build a place where we can be protected from dangerous animals so we can chop down trees with stones. After we cut down trees and put them into position to make a fence we dig a well to get water out of. If we find any food with seeds in it we will plant the seeds so we can grow our own food. We should also worship God. We would have a person that tames animals that we think can be tamed.
If my class were stranded on an island it would probably be insane! Everyone running and running and running around. Well first we would have to find a leader. I think there should be a leader for every subject. One for food finding, one for building shelters, one for building signal fires, and one for making use of natural resources. Once a week they would meat and discus laws and how they should punish law breakers. Some rules would be, no work on Sundays, don’t run away from your job, (or else no lunch) be kind, and work together. Everyone Thursday there would a 3 hour swimming party!!
If my class were stranded on an island, We would elect 3 leaders and if there was a problem, the 3 leaders would meet and talk about it. We would start out by making weapons and getting food, then we would take over other classes that got stranded on the island. Then we would make a church and houses. People got different jobs and worked for 10 hours. Every week, One person would be picked out to be the leaders servants and build a mansion and pool for each of them. Each month, there would be a new leader that would be picked. If someone did something bad, We would put them on a raft in the middle of the ocean and the # of days they stayed there would be determined by how bad the thing they did was. After a year of building everything up and giving people food for the work they did, we would stop doing that and develop a money system, and people would choose different jobs to do. They also would pay taxes. The leaders would put the money aside and use it for hiring workers to do stuff that would be good for our tribe. Once we were all built up, We would take over the rest of the island.

Well first of all being stuck on a tropical island with all my classmates would drive me nuts. But if I was to make up all the rules they would be:
1. No stealing the food.
2. No throwing people into the ocean at night.
3. No making fun of each other.
There are my three very simple rules. To select a new leader we would see who has the best leadership skills and make that person leader. Some jobs that we would have are: Builder, washer, cook. That’s what I would do if I was stranded on a tropical island .
If I was stranded on a island with all my class mates I think it is only fair to take a vote. First you will nominate some people then it would come down to who gets the most votes. A rule there would have to be is no fighting. Some jobs would probably be some people had to get food and then some were in charged of making sure we had fire every night. Then another job we might have would be to make the shelter. Being stranded on a island with all my class mates could get a little crazy!
If I was stranded on a tropical island with my classmates where there is no civilization or adults the first thing I would do is pray that I would survive then I would scream. I think that our class should pick a leader by having any one who wants to be a leader have to pass a series of tests. An intelligence test, a survival test, a religious test, and a leadership test. Whoever passed all four tests would be the leader. The jobs would be assigned according to that person’s abilities. Like if someone in our class is good at hunting ( I know a lot of the boys are) they would be assigned getting meat. If someone is good at cooking they would be assigned preparing the meals. If someone was smart when it comes to nature and plants they would be assigned finding eatable berries and other fruit and vegetables. So on and so forth. And one of the main rules would be if you don’t work you don’t eat. Another rule would be that you can’t hurt any one because with such a small amount of people we’d need every person to survive. If someone broke that rule depending on how much they hurt the person they would not be fed.

there would be a person for all of these jobs. We would need a person in charge of farming or supplying food, a steamstress or making new clothes, people to build houses or shelter, ect. And my rules would be (If I were the leader) to always listen to the leader and do what he or she says. Another would be do your job and if you were slacking you would have to work an extra hour.

I would have a democratic vote to see who would be the leader of our group (you can’t vote for yourself). I vote for Stewart Strobel because he’s smart, talented in many things, and far. I would vote for Matt for vise leader. Then the leader would separate the kids into 5 groups. One group for food, one group for creativity, one group for building, one group to make sure everyone obeyed the laws, and one group for teaching people about the island. We would vote for leaders of this group. I vote for Danny for the head of the food group because he could run and get food. I vote for Billy for head of creativity because he is creative. I vote for Tyler for head of building because he is strong. I vote for Zack head of laws because he can make people do things. Finally, I vote for Jonathan for the head of teaching because he is very smart and can do algebra. The head of laws can determent what to do with people who disobey laws. We would use the barter system for money just like the ancient Americans.

first we would all vote a leader. One girl one boy, it would be fair. Then the leaders would put people to do stuff. like getting food, shelter And other stuff. The other people would make the rules,like to not all the or destroy the shelter. During the day everyone would be doing something the boys would do the hunting and building stuff. The girls would cooking and all the other stuff. At night everyone would sit around the fire and eat. Time to time kids would get up and put wood on the fire so it would stay warm. If I was stranded on a tropical island with my classmates and so supervision, I would miss my parents!! If I had to choose a leader, I would choose someone who is smart, has a variety of skills, and who knows how to handle people and difficult situations. Every one would have to have a job, we would need people to grow food, collect fruits, berries, and other foods, hunters, fishermen/girls, cooks, people that have building skills, someone to cut down trees, sewers and weavers. We would have to work together and agree that there would be no stealing, fighting, hurting anyone in any way, and no destroying of others homes. If someone broke these rules they would have to be confined to their homes and do twice the work as normal.
We would have a race on the beach and whoever won would be the leader of the group.
The jobs would need builders to build our houses hunters to hunt for food, fishermen to catch fish, cooks to prepare meals, and seamstress to sew our clothing.

If we were stranded on an island I would make the rules the 10 commandments and we would have to work together. The boys could be in charge of hunting, making weapons, making the shelter and gutting the animals. The girls would be in charge of gathering fruit, water, nuts, roots and eggs . the girls would also make clothes and prepare food. If a boy does not hunt he does not get the any of the catch. If a boy does not help build shelter he has to build his own but he can’t sleep in ours. If a girl does not gather she does not get what we gather. If a girl does not help make clothes she has to wear the dirty clothes. We would not have a leader we would all be leaders.
First we would have to pick three boys and three girls to run for leader. Once we have those people picked you would have to vote for one boy and one girl. Once a leader is chosen they would have to assign everybody a job. Some jobs we would need could be hunter (me) for killing animals for food, fire builder who would have to keep a fire going all the time, cook for cooking the food, fire wood finder, food finder, a person that finds water, ect. The leader would also have to make rules. Some rules could be-

4: ect.
And on Sunday we would all have to go to a Bible Study then start working again. If somebody broke the rules they would have twice as much woke and they would not get as much food as everybody else. Then we would wait for help.
If I was stranded on a Island with my classmates I would set up a voting booth to see who was a wise leader.Then we would set up groups to search for food water and other supplies we needed.I would also hire people to build a fire and cook food.Everyone should get along and not fight over differnt thins. someone would also have to keep the fire going and to cook the food good enough to eat.We would also have to build weapons to kill animals.There would be a boy leader and a girl leader.We would try to survive the best we could. If I was standed on an island with my classmates I would have God as our leader. He would teach us to all get along and work together to survive. We would get our water from the ocean. We could spear fish for food and maybe hunt other wild animals on the island. I would be Gods chosen leader to appoint people with jobs. We would have to have a builder to make our protective houses. We would have to keep warm on cold nights. We would need someone to be our wood gathering person. We would need wood and fire to cook our fish and other foods. We could pick berries for fruit. We would all have to follow the rules so all the jobs would get done and we could survive. God would watch over us and protect us from harm as long as we believed in him and followed what he has taught us. It would be hard not to have McDonalds, but if we all survive it would be worth it. Sometimes we don't need everything we think we do. It would all work out and hopefully after only a few days we would be rescued. God would save us.

To pick a leader I would say there should be no leader, because then who isn't leader might get mad. Everybody would get in a fight.
I think everybody should get a job and everyone can be happy
and get along. Some people would need to gather food. Others would need to get wood to make fire. Someone would need to make the fire. We need people to make some kind of house. We would need to find materials to make clothes.
If somebody dies other people should remember to bury them.
