Poetry Cafe

Well, it is all done with and it seems that everyone survived Poetry Cafe on Thursday night. Use this week's blog to reflect upon the night. Talk about what you liked, how you felt as you got ready to read, etc... Feel free to give kudos out to your classmates for their fine performances as well. Highlight the things that really shined about the evening. Once again, remember that this is not the place to post anything that is negative or rude. Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, leave room for the affirmative...... (You get the point, right?)

At the poetry cafe I think that everyone did well.I liked the serious poems and the funny ones I really liked lolly pops, catigmidoodleznag (or whatever that name was), Jacob's, Ellie's, and everyone else. I liked all of the different decorations and deserts. I liked the different peotry theaters, I especially liked the one with Emily and Nicole. I liked the way they acted it out and it sounded and stuff. I also liked all the other poetry theaters. I enjoyed listening to all the different poetry and being with my friends. I think the most interesting peoms were the guessing ones. Some people guessed it wrong and I thought that was funny. I would really do another peotry cafe in the future.

I thought the poetry night was interesting. I liked listening to hear what everybody wrote. I think the parents really enjoyed it by their expressions on their faces. The desserts were great! I think everybody did a good job on their poems. I found it hard not to get nervous. I was very glad I wasn't the first one that had to give his poem. Sorry, it had to be you Ben. When more kids did it I wasn't so nervous anymore about saying it in front of people. Miss Miller did a great job of putting it all together and making it look nice. The empty Miller bottles with the flowers was pretty funny.

Ihad a great time at the Poetry Cafe, everybody did very well. I loved all of the poems and peotry theaters. I have to thank Katy for giving Nicole and I a shout out. Miss MIller did a good job too. I liked the poem by Dan-a about her family, but it would have been better if she didn't burst out in the giggles. I liked Lindsey's poem about the ice cream and NIcole's about God's love. I liked all of the poetry theaters and poems. I liked how the place was all dressed up and I do wish that it could be like that all the time. I think that the Cafe is going to be a thing that will last for years. That is one thing that I will remember through-out my life and I will also always think about how fun it was to go up infront of all those people and do doggie actions and then read a poem about animals (and cats). Well I think that should be good, until next blog, BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think everyone did a good job on their poetry. I was really nervous when I read my poetry on my brother. I think I could have been louder. I think Dana did well except when she started laughing. I especially liked Noah’s because it was long and about Star Wars. It also made sense. I also liked Johann’s poetry reading. It was cool that he made up an animal. I liked the wall of artwork. Everyone did a great job. I also liked the food! These are all the good things that happened in the Poetry Café. I hope the 5th graders enjoy it next year.

I think the Poetry Café was great and went really well. I liked hearing what other people had to say and what their poems were about. I liked when people said their poems with expression and feeling. Lindsey did great with showing the expression and feeling. I think the Poetry Theatre went really well too. I just think people got nervous and started to laugh. I especially liked Kyle’s poem, Johann’s poem, Brett’s poem, Noah’s poem, and everyone else was terrific too. The desserts were good, and the display of poetry books just added on to the occasion. I didn’t like when people started laughing when they were up there. It was funny at first, but then just got annoying. I also think Jacob did a great job with his poem. Thank Ya'll.

Ok, I thought the poetry cafe was all right. I would do it again if I had to just because all my friends were there. Also I got to hear other peoples poems that weren’t in my class. I like the hot chocolate too! Even though it burned my tong! GRRR. I would like to help with the poetry cafe' in a few years (if you do it again) to see what has changed). I liked the poetry theaters a lot because they were funny (kind of). I think everyone did pretty good the only think that wasn't the greatest was I couldn't hear some of them because some people weren't speaking into it loud enough. That was the only down fall. So I think the poetry Cafe' went very well! Thank you and BUH BYE!

The poetry cafe was fun.Everyone had awesome poems.I liked every persons.I think dana brought some fun into it.By laughing up a storm. My favorite poem i think would have to be elli's.Yet every ones was good.I loved the idea of poetry theater.I liked that we got to have a chance to have time with our friends/family.I think we all needed to be louder.including myself.I loved everything about each poem and the cafe.It told alittle bit more about us.This is what i think about the poetry cafe.

I think that the Poetry Café was really fun even though I started to laugh and it was like really embarrassing. I really liked the poetry theaters. I especially like the late one (no more pencils, no more books, no more teachers dirty looks.) I also liked the one Dog ate my homework. It was really funny; I liked how Miss Miller played the role of the teacher. I loved the decorations and the set up. I also think that every ones were good especially Cory’s, Elli’s, and Katy’s Christine’s and pretty much every one else’s. I really liked the Poetry Café and I would have definitely not changed anything about it.

One thing that I forgot to mention was when I was up there I was really scared, and nervous. I wouldn’t have started to laugh if Mallory wouldn’t have told me not to. Then when ever I looked up at her I started to laugh. I am never going to look at Mallory when I’m doing a presentation again!!!!!!!!!!

ha ha dana that was pretty funny!

Ya if u want my new sn talk to me at school :)

As I watched and heard the other sixth graders read their poems I saw how to have good expression and have good timing.I read my poem over and over again to have good fluency and could look at the crowd because I knew the poem so well. I wasn't really nevose or scare because I knew I knew the words and had good fluency but I was a little. To my surprise I did pretty good but I didn't express my poem as I had planned. If I had to do the poetry cafe' again I wouldn't do anything different but express a little more.

I felt bad. Because my mom wanted to leave so early. I liked the food. The poems. The funny ones To the sad ones
even the crazy ones. It was exciting, thrilling, enjoyable .but hard to read in front of that large and interested group of people. For that it is very very very very very very very very very had for me to talk in front of those people. Now I know I did well but I thought I did very very very very Bad. I thought I did so bad that I'd get front page. TITLE the prickly cactus boy. But I guess I did allrihgt. Well that’s my blog for you.

At the poetry cafe I think I did not add enough expression to my poem. I think I could have done better with my poem. I would say we could have done better in our poems more excitment and GET MORE LOUDER! We need to be more better in reading out poems and making a more perspective of yourself and we could also be better by chosing better poem that you would think is good for you and something that fits your personal style of poetry. I'm pretty sure you all want to be famous poetry writters some day and the only way is to practice , practice makes perfect. well I wish I could tell you more , but I'm out of here.
Bye!

I think that the Poetry Cafe went good. I would do it again if I had to. Everyone did good reading their poem. When I went up to read my poem I was so scared I was goingto mess up and break down laughing. When I got up there to read my poem, i just thought that all the people watching were in their underware or not even paying attention to me when i was reading. On our way to the poetry cafe I was so nervous. It felt like my stomach droped!!

I thought the poetry café was o.k. I didn’t real like it because I hate reading things in front of people, except in front of my friends. I loved the food it was really good! Dana if you read mine I thought it was really good, but I don’t know if I got it all because of all the laughing! That was really funny! You even made all the people behind you start laughing! Like Zach. I thought it was a very good job of decorations, and I thought Miss Miller did a great job on the whole thing! NICE JOB CLASSMATES AND NICE JOB MISS MILLER!!!!

At poetry cafe I think that it was a big turn out. My favorite was proble the sweets. I liked the snapping, but my fingers were soar so I didn't like that part. I thought that everyone did great in reading poems. I especialy liked the poetry theaters they were a blast. My mom sayed that was so cool how we all put it toghter. She wishes she could have done something like that when she was that age. My brother wished he could be there(just for the sweets he doesn't like peotry that much. This thng was alot of fun.

I thought the Poetry Café went well. I liked every ones poems. I was freaking out befor I had to read mine. I am not good in front of crowds. I always mess up because I’m nerves. Persons that I liked the most was Dana’s. But everyone did good too. Dana you kept on laughing. It was funny. :-) If we would do it another time I would probably do it again. I thought the treats were a good idea. I also liked the Poetry Theaters. A lot of them were funny. I liked the decorations. I though this was I good idea. Bye bye :-)

At the Poetry Cafe I had alot of fun listening to the other students' poems and eating brownies and cookies. I had a couple of cups of hot chocolate, too. When it was finally my turn to read my poem, I was really nervous. My poem was about a little man from Tyran who enjoyed going to Japan. My mom was a little disappointed that she had to wait to the very end to hear my poem and it was so short. I especially enjoyed listening to Jacob's and Johann's Poetry Theater. "A Dog Ate My Homework" was very funny and had a goofy ending.

I think everybody did an exallent job. I really liked the reader’s theaters in between. I liked how everything was set up for the poetry café. One of my favorite poems was Emily’s. It was pretty funny. I also liked Jennifer’s. It really showed me that she liked volley ball. I liked the way Miss Miller organized the whole thing. I was nervous when I first got up to read my poem but I Still had lots of fun reading both my own poem and the one me and Emily read together. I really thought the very last poem read was funny. I also noticed that lots of people’s poems expressed their feelings. With some poems that were read I felt like crying. Some Poems were very funny, like Abrinas.

I thought it was A great show and every one did A great job. Dana started to laugh and I mean Hard which was not good but it was funny it was even funnier when I watched the tape then I could see it all I could not see it all from where I was sitting. I think it all just went good super or what ever you want to call it. But after Dana went Zach came on with an encore presentation of laughter of himself. Mine and Joeys I think were the best because they were short and sweet and to the point that is why I think that.

My reading got way messed up Dana set the mood into hysterics and it made me really nervous and then I tried calming down than boom ouch! I get nailed to the wall with that “I suppose this isn’t the time to crack up.” My own fault. I loved the licorice one and I also liked cadlmicZoodlenog by Johann and Jacob’s was completely awesome. Kyle’s really was solemn. He really did an awesome he did the best his poem was completely the BEST it made me realize a lot of things I didn’t before. WAY TO GO KYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is what made the poetry café interesting. It’s the poets that make it the poetry café each year it’s going to be different because of the different people. Thank you Miss Miller for organizing this event!

I think that the poetry cafe was a success. There were a lot of great poems. Everyone did a great job. I think that Miss Miller should do the Poetry Cafe every year for a long time because other kids will like it too. I thought Cory's was very funny. There were a lot of others I would list, but I am going to get on with the blog. I liked how there were great refreshments and things. I was kind of nervous going up to read, but once I started it all went away. I think the highlight was the whole thing because it was great.

I think the poetry café was great. I had so much fun. I want to tell everyone how wonderful their poems were. I was kind of scared to speak in front of all those people, but when I got up there it was not that bad. I think the poetry theater was one of the best parts. I also enjoyed that I got to hang out with my awesome friends and cheer each other on. I also want to thank all the moms for the desserts. I want to also thank Miss Miller for all her hard work. I think you should absolutely do it again next year.

The poetry café was awesome. I loved to finally be able to read my finished pieces to the public instead of having them gather dust in my room. I loved doing the Poetry Theater and wish that more people would have done one. I’m especially glad I got to do my doggy ate my homework since I’d been memorizing it since the start of the unit. My favorite poem was the one Johann did about the catamicdoodlezanog (I hope I spelled catamicdoodlezanog correctly) I think that we should give Miss Miller a round of applause for all the work she did on putting this together, and I would like to say it was a marvelous success. Also HAPPY SNOW DAY I hope you all enjoyed it.

Words 128 letters 540 see ya.

I think the Poetry Cafe was pretty good. For the first year of Poetry Cafe I think it was good and next year should be even better. I think the Poetry theaters were pretty clever. It would be nice to see the Poetry Cafe next year because my sister is doing it next year (if there is a next year). I bet that my sister would laugh as much as Dana laughed. It would be funny to see my sister reading a poem. It was also pretty funny to hear everyone's poems and see their expressions after they are done. I hope that they do as well as they did this year.

WHY BE NORMAL? AND ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the poetry cafe everything went well people liked it they laughed but I dont think anybody cried. Poetry cafe was good for the first time ever. They liked the poetry theaters and things taht people wrote themselves. Some thing we should have is more liek real food not like cookies and cake and things more like pizza and other thing for those who dont like pizza. Everybdoy did good but the people who laughed for a really long time should work on not laughing when doing that in front of people.

I thought the poetry cafe went very well. I liked Noah’s about STAR WARS. I thought some people had very interesting poems about imaginary stuff(catimagdoodleznog).
Mallory's was also good because of the guessing game. I don't think mine went to well, though. I did a kind of lame topic. I did like the poetry theaters, too. Jacob’s and Johann’s was the best poetry theater. I also liked all the treats that everyone brought(cookie-dough brownies).
I think that Miss Miller should do this next year, too. I would like to come back in 2 years to see my sister do it. That will be fun
