Sunday's Snowfall Inspired this Story Starter:
I knew my family shouldn't have drove home from Minnesota after Thanksgiving, but mom and dad wanted to be back for school and work. We should have waited a day with the big snowfall the meteorologists were predicting. As we were heading home, the sky was getting dark and the snow was coming down hard, the blinding sort of snowfall that is made worse by light shining into it. We still had at least 3 hours to go, but I wasn't sure we would make it. The next thing I knew, the tires were spinning out beneath us and we were zipping around in circles on the highway before landing 20 yards away in the ditch. Thankfully no one was hurt, but we were in rough shape. Mom and dad's cell phones were dead and there were no other cars around.
What happens next? That's up to you-write the ending to this snowbound experience!

To tell you the truth I was a little scared. I didn’t know what was going to happen next, but I new that God was with me, even if we did freeze to death. This was all in Gods hands. Now what happened next does sound a little unusual. We were standing there in the middle of the ditch, screaming for help, when all of a sudden the snow started to turn into coffee, but not any ordinary coffee, decaf. Now I wonder if God had some and just decided to pour the rest of it on the earth. Anyway, we decided to eat some since we didn’t have any dinner yet. So we ate, and ate some more. Until we noticed we ate around the whole car. So we thought to get back in the car and try to get out of the deep ditch. Finally we got out on the road again and drove home. (This story is not real as you can tell. So it will probably never snow coffee drops/flakes.)
Dad tried to get us out by driving but we were almost completely trapped in SNOW. All we had in the car was an old snickers rapper two snow scrapers and four freezing humans. So dad and I started our shift of scrapping ice and snow not to mention shovling snow with our hands. As my Mother and little brother sat in the car toasty warm and listening to chrismas music. In the longest thirty min. I've ever experienced. Finlly dad and me were in the car. When we were just about to start our third shift a police officer came driving up looking for accidents. That night I rode home in a police car. As I gazed at the snow out the window I thought I am so going to write about this in Language Arts.
I thought that it was the end of the world but I did what I always did and that was to pray to God and he answered my prayer by sending a tow truck and lift our car off the ground and for some odd reason the tow truck did not have fuel and so some guy came and fuelled up the truck and then we got on the tow truck and we drove away except we could not get out of the snow pile so the guy had to shovel all the way home for us and thank God we got home safe
My Dad tried to push the car out wile my mom pressed the gas. Then my dad tried to jack one weal up and drive. Then cars would slow down and then drive away. But then we got it going and then our cars battery died from us trying to gun it out and our jumpers were in my mom car. But then a guy came over and he couldn’t get it out. So he said “there’s a toe truck place up ahead about 39 miles so we waited and waited he toed us out then gave our car power. And went home.
i was freaked out! I knew my parents should have let me get a cell phone. oh well. thats not the big issue. this is going to be a great story to tell all my friends back at home. What was that? did i just here my dad say we were stuck in the snow! i officaly hate winter, and snow. "What Mom! i dont want to stand out in the snow freezing to death and try to get someone to see us and stop and help us out of this dich!" maby we'll get lucky and the tow truck will go past and tow our car out of the ditch. hey look! a tow truck! hey i think he saw us! wow that tow truck is huge! yay we get to ride in his truck. 15 MINUTES LATER Im glad this tow truck saved us! were sitting here drinking hot chocolate. Well that was and adventure! it was acctually fun! winter is actually prety fun!
I really hated winter when we got stuck driving in the snow. There goes the car in the ditch. Then I started panicking but I was still telling myself to calm down. Then when a some people were coming down the the road and stopped they tired to help us, but they were in a rush so they couldn’t help any more - they had to go. So I was praying and hoping someone else would stop. Then a car passed us and just drove away. Then I saw a big truck come down the road. It was a towing truck and they noticed us. Then they stopped and pulled up are car out of the ditch. Then we got home safe and sound.
Now I had really started to get scared. Thankfully our cousins were right behind us so they called a tow truck but when the tow truck got there it had just run out of fuel so my cousins had to drive to a nearby gas station and get a guy to come down with some gas (not the rear end gas). Anyway, once we got that all sorted out, we finally started on our way again. When we finally got home, we were two hours later than we expected to get home. I’m so thankful that my cousins were driving behind us.
My mom was scared , Dad was already sleeping [obviously]. I heard screams of terror inside my head. I found thick blankets and matches and found a lot of wood and made a fire. I used some leftovers for food .Me and my mom walked for 2 more wasted hours. I saw a big ball of fur it was a dog it was a rescue dog. It dropped something a communicator I said mom go back and get dad and hurry. I channeled with 911 the said help is on the way. We were saved and we stayed up there for a couple more days.
When the car finally came to halt, we all took opened our eyes to see if we were still alive. Thank God nobody was hurt. We all moved into action. We got out too see if we could push ourselves back on the road because nobody was around. Then we saw lights. To my surprise, it was Matt. He was coming home himself. We were so happy that he started to lift weights because with a few pushes he had us up in the air and on the road. We followed him all the way back to Cedarburg just in case we got into any more trouble.
Luckily we were at our grandparent’s house all of thanksgiving and we “camped” in their basement. I had brought all of my camping equipment with me. I got on all my snow gear rounded up my valuables grabbed my parents and set out. We ventured into some hills and found a cave! We sent my dad in to the cave to see if there were any animals. We waited out side for a bit. When we were assured that there were no animals we set up camp. We had packed in our bags: Extra clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, lights, matches, and pillows. We each had a small separate bag in which we/I kept toys and small valuables. We also brought a tent and another bag(in which we have food and kitchen supplies). When we were all set up I peeked my head outside and looked around. All I saw was a few trees miles and miles upon snow and a tiny chipmunk scurrying about stopping every few moments. We next took the snow and rolled it into big balls and placed them about a foot away from the entrance to the cave. We did this to keep large animals out we hung a tarp over the entrance and Settled in for a nice meal. Our dinner consisted of potato chips and root beer. We would have a better break fast tomorrow.
Tomorrow we packed up camp and set out again. We this time ventured farther into the woods there we found a cabin nestled in the woods. We knocked on the door and we asked if we could use the phone. Next we called our friends and they came to rescue us we were soooooooooooooooo thankful that thanksgiving.
After everybody gets out of the car my dad realizes that there’s a cell phone charger in the van. Right when we turn around we hear a crack. Unfortunately we stopped on a frozen lake. It wasn’t strong enough to hold a fully loaded van so the ice broke. The van fell into the ice-cold water and sank. Great, now were stuck in the middle of nowhere. We stood there and watched the water for a bit then we went to the side of the highway and waited to see if any cars would come. After about one hour of extreme coldness we saw 2 lights. The lights got closer and closer. Unfortunately they too spun out. They all got out. Checking for any damage. Crack! Splash! They too lost their car to the frozen lake. So they came and sat next to us. Then we saw to more lights. We all ran ahead to warn the driver. He stopped. Fortunately it was a semi-truck. We all got in and the truck driver got past the ice path and we drove to the nearest city.
After we did our screaming for a good five minutes we got out of the car and tried to push it out. After we figured that we weren’t going to be able to push it out my mom decided to call AAA. They said that they would be there in about twenty minutes. Then we got back in the car to wait. After about twenty minutes AAA called to say that they would be about five minutes late because of bad roads. So after five minutes AAA called to say that the tow truck had gone off the road but they would be send a different tow truck to come get us. Once they got us back on the road we drove home right away. As soon as we got home my mom called my grandma and thanked her for getting her a membership to AAA.
We didn’t know what would happen, which was pretty scary. All we did was some waiting trying to find out how we could get going out of here or at least get some help, until I saw something. It looked like a cannonball! I ran over to see what it was. I turned out not to be a cannonball, but a round container! I quickly opened the container, what I saw inside shocked me it. It was four plane tickets to Orlando with a pass for a NASCAR race there. “Wow,” I said to myself, “I better keep these.” I ran back to my family, which strangely never noticed that I ran off. My sister has made a rescue beacon to signal help and my dad got his cell phone back online. We were saved! As soon as I got a break at home I went to eBay and sold all those passes and tickets and got 1 thousand dollars in return! Maybe leaving early wasn’t so bad after all.
Then we waited and waited then finaly after 2 & a half hours a car was coming down the road. We were getting exited as the car was aproaching, but then the car did not stop and he missed us. So as we were waiting for another hour another car was coming toward us, and as it was stopping the car slid into the ditch on the other side of the road. When he got out of his car we told him that we would help him get his car out of the ditch if he helps us get our car out of the ditch. So then he said "yes I will help you get your car out of the ditch". Then I need you to help me get my car out of the ditch, and after we got our cars out of the ditch we all decided to go and have dinner togather and we became good friends.
After the car stopped spinning all was very quiet for one minute. We openned our eyes and looked outside. There was nothing there, it was pitch black. We all got out of the car, knowing we weren't hurt. We saw the car was really stuck in some deep snow. We tried walking to the highway for help, but we got half way and it got deeper and we couldn't walk through it. We walked back to the car and figured out that we have a GM motors vehichle which has onstar. The onstar asked us if we were hurt. We said no, we just need a tow. She reponded with help will be there in a minute. It didn't take long until the Jackson tow truck was there. We got pulled out and we had a Happy Thanksgiving ride home.

Thankfully no one was hurt, but we were in rough shape. Mom and dad's cell phones were dead and there were no other cars around.Luckily I charged my cell phone before we left. We called the police. They said it would take 2-3 hours for them and a tow truck to come. Meanwhile my little sister was crying, I was hungry and my mom was freaking out then dad threw a power bar at me and told mom and Jenna to be quiet. I said power bars are bad and so is your driving. He said, “eat it all we have!” I was starving so I ate it. The police and the tow truck came and the tow truck pulled us out. Our car was okay but we got a ticket and we had to stay at a hotel.
We tried to back the car out of the ditch but the tires wouldn't grip the snow. We tried jacking up the car to dig the snow out from beneath the tires with our hands but all we found was ice. We lowered the car and tried to back the car out of the ditch again. It got a little traction but not much. I just then remembered that we had a 24 pack of water bottles. We could warm the water up if it was not already warmed up in the car and pour some water on the ice to melt it. We lifted up the car again with the jack and poured warm water on the ice. The ice melted and we lowered the car and put the jack away. We backed up a third time and got back on the road and drove the rest of the way home safely. After this we talked about keeping . shovel, blanket and some ice in the car.
If I was stuck in a snow storm without a cell phone I would stay calm and not worry about anything.
We were stuck in are car for about 5 hours. It took us awile to find a car that would actually stop and help us out.The guy that helped us out thankfully had shuvvels in his car.It took us 3 hours to shuvvel the whole car out. But it was soo cold that the car wouldnt start. It just wouldnt turn over. But finally we call a tow truck to come and pick us up and fix are car. That night thanfully we got out safe.God was defenatley wathing over us then THE END!!!
Im so scared right now I have know clue what to do? Theres no cars around and the cell phones are dead. Hmmmmm well...a car will have to come by soon.My parent and I are just staying in the car intill a car comes by.
2 HOURS LATER
Its been 2 hours and not one car came by. Where is everyone? I see something in the distance its looks like lights. OMG!!! Its a car and a tow truck. The tow truck is coming to pull us out and bringing us to a rental car place. Well have to rent a car untill are car is fixed. I have to go now. BYE!!!!!!!!!!
The car was totally dead. The battery was dead and gas was leaking everywhere! We quickly got out of the car and looked to see what we had in the car. I had a bag with my clothes, shoes, and other stuff. I had a few blankets and one pillow. There was one small package of matches with three matches left. We cleared the snow from one area and found long grass below. The grass was too wet to burn, but it made good padding for a makeshift bed. I put on an extra pair of clothes and my parents and I got under the blanket. Together, we prayed that God would help us get through the night and let someone get here by morning.
When I woke up I was confused. Why was I so cold? Where was I? Then, it hit me!!! My car slid off the road. The car was almost totally gone. In the dark I couldn't see the damage, but now it was clear. I think we hit a tree on our way to the ditch, the whole front end was gone. There was almost a full tank of gas on the ground and three of the wheels were flat. Soon both of my parents were up and we decided to see if there was anything salvageable in the car. we pulled out the two front seats and the bucket seats in the middle. Then we went back to the "bed" and made a circle with the chairs. We found a few branches that were somewhat dry. I lit one of the matches and we started to make a fire. It smoked a lot but it gave us some warmth.
About half an hour later we heard sirens. There were about 3 fire trucks headed our way. I got up and ran to the side of the road. All of the trucks stopped and asked me what happened. My parents and I got into one of the trucks and explained what had happened. It turns out that the fire men had thought there was a forest fire from all the smoke.
On the way home (in a fire truck!) I prayed to God, Thanking him for what he had done for us. Then I thought, this would be a great story to write in Language Arts Class!!!
THE END!
I opened my eyes and saw our car covered in snow. Our family tried pushing the car out, but we couldn't. We also had just went to Best Buy and got a tape recorder, video camera, T.V., and remote control car. We then hooked up the video recorder on the car. We also put a S.O.S. on the tape recorder. We connected the vido camera to the T.V. so we could control the car as it drove and see where it was going. After driving it 9999999 miles, we saw a gas station and drove the car into the gas station and played the tape recorder. Then the owner of the gas station brought his tow truck and got us out of the ditch. Then we sold our invention for 9,999,999,999,999$ and became very famous.
mine is awesome
