Welcome to 6th grade, Middle School, and a whole new adventure! Since many of you were a part of my first year (or two) of teaching, I'd love to hear what you remember about the early years. Whether you had me for a teacher or not, please answer the following question in 100 words or more:

What are some of your favorite memories from 1st or 2nd grade or what do you remember most from that time?

The things I remember from 2nd grade. I remember that we won the pizza party and we also won the icecream party. We got to go to your house for the icecream party and wet to the park it was alot of fun. I also remember pretty much everyone in your class got pink eye. I also remember the science project that was alot of we used cardboard pizza trays and tapped all the planets onto it and then we hung it from the ceiling in your classroom. I also remember that I never had you for reading groups and I was very disappointed.

Thanks!

Hi, Miss Miller
I was in your first and second grade class and I remember all the poerty and all my friends. I still remember when I got that big card from u and my class. I still have it in my closet and I look at it all the time. I am glad that some of my friends are still here and that some of them are back. Do u remember when I had my dogs come in for my birthday? But I only have one of the dogs left and that is shasta. I like that u are my teacher again and that I had u for 3 years. I hope that u have with us.

I was in your second grade class! I remember the Halloween party we bobbed for apples, painted pumpkin cookies with frosting!!! I got soaked from bobbing with apples!! It was so much fun. I also remember that the other reading class was jealous that the other reading class got to watch Ruby Bridges so you let them watch it. It was a very good movie!! The whole class was so blessed to have you as a teacher!! It was so much fun to be in your class. I always thought you were so much fun!! Thanks for being an awesome teacher!!!

I remember being in your reading class for both first and second grade. I just ramdomly remembered the time that we were reading Ruby Bridges and being bored out of my brains!!! But now I realize how important that is to American history. I have so many memories from second grade that would take up a whole book but I dont have enough time to write all of those memories. I was in Mrs. Milekes class and remember her just handing out book orders and then having the lights go out. That is how my horse stuffed animal got its name. Lucky, because I was lucky to get him that day. I have enjoyed so much in second grade but at the moment that it was happening I wouldn't have realized that. Oh and one other point...HORSES ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My best memories from 1st grade are that when i came from North west lutheran in Millwakee to First Immanuel Lutheran in Cedarburg. When I came here instantly i got some really good friends. The friends I met in 1st grade are still my freinds even better they are my best freinds. Then in 2nd grade when the power went out. It was sacry at first but then it became fun after a couple hours. We ate lunch in the dark and we also had hamburgers on the grill it was yummy. When that day ended i told my mom all about it and told her how fun it was well got 2 go bye

The things I remember from 2nd grade are that once I got the best 8th grader out in lightning. In our holloween party i scared my best friend so much he wet his pants. In it I fell into the pool were apples were. I had Mrs. Sholtz in Trinity Luthrin. In our school the power went out and we had to have flashlights. That day we played outside all day. We played kick ball and an 8th grader kicked a ball over the fence. I almost broke my arm. We got to watch a movie it was called starwars five.

My favorite part was when you picked a new book and and it started with indroduesing her and Mrs.. My favorite book was the mooshy gooshy Valentine. I loved it when she found out it was Gym. I also rember having that jar that you would give to people to fill with what ever they wanted I people would guess and on Friday. I loved being in your class and hope we have a good year.

Some things I remember from first and second grade is when the power went out for like two or three hours and we had to go close to half a day with candle light and no classes. And for lunch because the oven thing in the kitchen had no power we got to have hamburgers from the grill. And because the classroom was by no windows our room was really dark. Then we got to tell ghost stories with our classmates and if we really wanted to we could take a nap. That day was really fun and unique and I will never forget it.

The thing I remember most about 1st and 2nd grade is the solsr system project. I never had Miss Miller for any thing exept Science, which was only a few weeks. I do remember that we had three classes and the number of people in the classes was the most we have had so far! I also remember going to an apple orchard. That was pretty fun. on that field trip I think we saw a show in a barn or something. I think we got free apples. Those were very good.So that was just about all I remember from that grade.

HI MISS MILLER! I am just commenting again because I have nothing better to do and I think blogging is fun. I will probably write more than one on a bunch of blogs because blogging is awesome!!! So now you get to read more second grade stories because I have lots of time to write and think blogging is fun! But I don't want to hold you too long so if you do not have time to read mine you can skip it and come back and not read it at all. But here are more second grade stories to read!!! I remember more about when the light went out because Noah rocks and reminded me of so many fun second grade times! I remember Mrs. Mielke lighting like fifty different candles and then a bunch of teachers coming in to talk and then coming out with like five candles in their hands!!! That was so fun in the dark! I also remember being in music when that happened so we got to sing songs in the dark. That was the day that my brother back in fifth grade had that electricity bike in his classroom so Mrs. Emerys class had some power. NO FAIR!!! I enjoyed second grade soo much that I am sad to see Mrs. Mielke leave not only school but the state of Wisconsin!!! Whenever I walk by my second grade classroom and see our class flag still up my mind is flooded with so many great memories that a part o me still wants to be back in second grade and yet the other part here in sixth grade. And I have 2 points to make: 1 you ALL rock and 2 horses are awesome!!! One more point... I loked horses in second grade so you can't hold that not having to do with second grade against me! P.S. hrslvr DB is Dani and I still have lucky from my first blog.

Hi Miss Miller! My (not my favorite) but most recent memory to me is when Corey was choking in the Atomic Fireball. That was pretty scary. OK. So, it was a memory day, and if you don’t remember or you weren’t in Miss Miller’s 2nd grade class everybody got a little piece of candy each time they got a memory verse right. So, in the jar there were, the killer hard candy, the Atomic Fireball. To cut a long story short, he got a verse right. Dundundun. An Atomic Fireball taken out of the jar. And then, “Miss Miller? I can’t breath.” So I think Corey, like, blacked out or something while Miss Miller was doing the himelick on him. So as you hopefully know Corey is alive.

I didn't mean to say that it was by them

sorry

Miss Miller,I didn't have you for the main 2nd or 1st grade homeroom. I had Mrs Jackson and Mr.Sievers for 1st and 2nd grade. But I do recall having you for science or reading. I don't remember which!I remember a project we did in science that had to do with craters. The whole class threw dfferent sized rocks into a bucket of sand to make craters. I also remember going to the domes in Milwaukee. That was all so fun! Another big moment was the BIG POWER OUTAGE!!Both 2nd grade classes were in music when that happened. And thats all really remember!

I remeber the black out in second grade. We were in music class and we were watching a pupet version of Peter and the Wolf, then the T.V. started going out so we were wondering what was happening, soon they told us that there was a storm and the power was out. So we decided to sing some songs. Then we back to our classes and in my class we told stories about rain and water. Then try to spell Supercalifragilisticexpialidocius backwards. Then we went to lunch and thats when the lights went back on and its been two hours. It was a day to remember.

My favorite 2nd grade memory was with Mrs.Mielke when we did the Flat Stanley project and mine went all the way to my aunt in California and then it went to my aunt in Illinois and they took it to Chicago. Then it went to my Cousin at UWM then she sent it to a friend in Arizona. They finally sent me back to school. When I was looking at the stuff that came back to me there were tons of postcards and Flat Jonathan's arm had a bandaid on it because it got ripped by a little girl in Arizona. That was my favorite memory From 2nd grade!!!!!

Funny Clare now about your second grade memories...

One of my favorite second grade memories was when we all went to your cool Ice Cream Party. One of the worse memories was when Corey almost choked on a red hot Gobstopper. One of my favorite field trips was when we went to the Millwaukee Mueseum, and the apple cider place. I loved when we all went to the park. I loved playing on the swings. One of the best memories from second grade was having such a small classrom with no desks just a circle table. With everybody getting pink eye it was crazy I remember oneday only half our class was their. One of the best things about second grade was going to see your apartment.

Anonymous said...

I remember that in 2nd grade we sang songs everyday. I also remember the mailboxes in the tiny back corner of the room. I liked the way we counted lunch, changing the cards to milk, hot, or nothing. I remember the Flat Stanley project, poetry, and telling the weather. In fact I still have my poetry binder. I loved the day when the power was out and Miss Miller’s room just had enough light. It was fun because we got to play games all day. Last, I remember all the book reports. I got all the patches, but it wasn’t easy. They were so much fun! NOT!

Hey Miss Miller, One of my favorite 2nd Grade moments was when the power went out.
We got to play inside the class room and just fool around. I remember that we had burgers off the grill. I also had a lot of fun when we went to your apartment for ice cream. Even thought I have a lot of good memories I still remember when I was choking in 2nd on a Atomic Fireball or whatever there called like Joey said I think I might have blacked out because I forgot a lot of it. Also I remember when most of the class got pink eye. Well I’m done writing so bye!

My favorite memory is when the power went out in second grade. I was in Mr. Siever’s class. I heard this zap and the TV turned off. We were in music so we sang songs (like usual). It was so cool! We went back to homeroom and played seven up heads up and some other games I don’t recall. I wasn’t so good at it but I still had fun. We were right next to the library so it was almost pitch black. We used candlelight and went to lunch and had burgers from the grill. They tasted awesome! then power went on and the awesome day was ruined.

P.S. can you post a blog where we can chat thanks BZ.

Hi Miss Miler, You were one of my favorite teachers ever. In second grade, I remember when I got to teach for one of your classes. It made me feel very important. I liked that you taught out of the book, it made things more fun. I also enjoyed the ice cream party at your house and the games we played after it. What I remember most is when the power went out. It was out for a while and we got to play some really fun games. You gave me some good memories, you were a great teacher and I am glad to have you again this year!

I had Miss Miller for 1st grade. I remember friends from class like Joey, Sam and Vance. I remember the poems and poetry, such as "these are my friends" to the tune of the Adam's family. One thing I don't want to remember were the green, yellow and red cards. I absolutely loved it when we got to go to your apartment for an ice cream party!!!!! I lost my first tooth in your 1st grade reading class. I remember you used to give us "squeeze the guts out" hugs. I remember playing on the computer, the magic school bus game all the time during free time.

First grade was a good year with lots of fun and games. I liked the ice cream reading where we had to read with Mrs. P. Then we got to go to Miss Miller’s house for real ice cream! Then we played games like tossing a ball around, and others then we went back to school and played some more games and that kind of stuff. Second grade was also great. The gigantic storm was the best. We got to stay inside with a lantern and play lots of games. Second grade was great just like first grade. They will always be in my memory.

Hi Miss Miller! My favorite 2nd grade memory was when the power went out. I remember we were right in the middle of music class and all of a sudden, the power went out! Everyone started screaming and going crazy! We played games all day and didn't have any homework! We didn't have to go to any classes or anything! My favorite game that we played was Heads-Up 7 Up. I had an AWESOME time playing games! All of our food was cold and hard because there was nothing to heat it up in. Once we got back into the classroom again, Mr. Sievers went out of the room for a minute. Maggie started telling scary stories about a mysterious man with a purple head hiding inside our coat closet. Then, no one wanted to go near the coat closet. I was EXTREMELY sad when the power came back on towards the end of the day, but everyone had a really fun time that day!

Hi Miss Miller,
My favorite first grade memory was when I got to take my favorite stuffed animal to school. I had to tell why my stuffed animal is so special to me. It was my first Build a Bear and I made it with my grandma and grandpa. My grandparents are really special to me and I love doing things with them. I named my bear Smokie because he is all black. After we did show and tell our first grade class went to the all Childrens park. We ate sandwiches, cheetos and I drank a juice box. We also played games. It was a really fun day and I enjoyed sharing my special stuffed animal.

Hi Miss Miller,
One of the most bazar things happened when I was in 2nd grade. There was a black out when I was in music at the time. Some people were really scared and some people were not as scared. Like Tyler he was so scared he had a asma attack so he went home after music. After music was over we went to are homeroom and played board games, cards, and some games that Mr.Sievers new and what some of the students new too. When that class was done we went to go eat. It was Friday so we got hamburgers,(YEAH) but the power was still out so they grilled out them. They were better than the other ones. When we were eating the power came back on. So we finished the rest of the day.

hi miss miller!
i had you for reading in 2nd grade and i remember i had fun. my favorite memory from 2nd grade is when i went to florida with tatum and her mom and dad. our favorite ride was the tower of terror because we thought it was cool how you could see the whole park from the top and because i was too short to go on most of the other big rides so it was neat that i could go on at least one with tatum. i remember in 2nd grade science with you making solar systems too and that was a lot of fun.

Hey everybody I was not in Miss Miller’s home room at all but I was in her reading class for first and second grade it was great and fun although I wish that I would have been able to be in her class!! I remember when every one in your class got pink eye and we were really short on students!! It was sad then but now we can laugh at it. I was not in your class but I still got it and I think that, that was the last time I had pink eye, well I hope that we have a good year together(and not get pink eye like last time:)
