Losing your senses!

Just pretend that you were captured by an evil magician who gave you a choice between the two scenarios below. Which would you choose and why? What wouldn't you be able to do anymore? What things in your life might change?

1) You will lose all sense of sight (no vision at all)

2) You will lose all sense of sound (no hearing at all)

Wow thats a hard one!!! I would have to say hearing. Then I could still play sports because I could still see whats happening. I could also still ride horses. Things that might change are the school pep rallies. I wouldn't be able to scream and cheer on my friends and class mates and I wouldn't know what was going on. I also would have trouble with jobs because if I was babysitting I wouldn't get to hear the child and if I was a bagger at Piggly Wiggly I wouldn't know if the person wanted paper or plastic. But either way if I lost sight or hearing, life would probably stink because I would miss out on alot!

Just Pointing out 1 thing...HORSES ROCK THE WORLD!!!

This is very hard,no hearing or no sight hmm.I would go with no hearing. I could learn sign langauge, still play sports, still read although it would be difficult play piano or sing I could live without my ears. Now that I think about it school might be kind of hard to. I,m not saying I want to live without ears but it might be kind of fun. I wouldn't be able to talk on the phone either. Good bye ears we had a fun 11 years together. After that evil wizard did this to me I'd come back with the U.S. army and get him! MAUHAHAHA

For me this was hard because No hearing or No sight. I like I would go with No hearing because I can still play volley ball the sport I love. I would have to go to a special school so that I can learn how to read lips and do sign language. It would be hard to get a job because if you cant hear the orders or what your boss is telling you. Then you can’t go to the movies with your friends because you wouldn’t know what is happening because you can’t hear. This is how I think it would be to loose your hearing. I wish people wouldn’t have to live like this.

Volly ball rocks and we got second place this weekend.

It's hard, But I would have to go without hearing. I could still watch and play sports. I could learn sign language and would not have to listen to stuff. It would stink to because You couldn't hear stuff from people. I could still play my PS2 and other game systms.
home work would be hard and a different school to. It would be really hard but I would really miss talking and listening to my family talk. It would be really hard to go with out hearing about stuff and I would come back and beat that evil wizard up and I would brack the spell and get my hearing back. THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I was captured, I think I would choose no hearing because I can live without hearing. I have heard things before so I do not think I would mind, sure I would have to learn sigh language but I would not want to have to learn how to live with out sight. I would not want to learn how to read in want blind people read in. I think it would be ok to not to be able to hear. One think I could not do ever again is go to a regular school. That is what and why I would chose to give up.

I would rather have no hearing because you can still do lots more things than not seeing you could play sports still because you can see where you are going still! i could also still ride horses i like horses a lot! i would not be able to listen in class though so the teacher would have to write everything on the board for me!! i would not be able to go to pep rallys because i could not hear what mr. Everts would be saying!! i think i would need less care from other people than if i was blind!! so that is why i would like to have no hearing instead of no seeing i like my eyes and ears!!!

Hi Miss Miller. Hmmm, that's a hard one. I would probably say hearing though. I think it would be much worse to lose your sight then hearing. As long as you can still hear, you can do just about everything the same. You wouldn't be able to hear your teachers talk in the classroom, but that wouldn't be that much of a loss. Also, you would still be able to communicate, just not in the same way. Hey, I would still be able to play sports, play Wii, and ride my horses, so I'm good.Personally, I wouldn't like to lose either of these privileges, but if I had to pick one, it would definetly be hearing.

IF AN EVIL MAGICIAN CAPTURED ME I WOULD CHOOSE TO BE DEAF. THAT WAY I COULD STILL SEE EVERY THING AND DO ALL MY SPORTS AND MUSIC BECAUSE YOU CAN USE VIBRATIONS AND READ THE MUSIC. DID YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU LOSE ONE OF YOUR SENSES ONE OF YOUR OTHER SENSES BECOME STRONGER. IF I DID SPORTS, THEY MIGHT HAVE TO USE SIGN LANGUAGE TO TELL ME THE PLAY THAT WE'RE DOING. I KNOW THAT BEING DEAF IS A BETTER CHOICE FOR ME BECAUSE THE THINGS I LIKE TO DO INVOLVE SEEING MORE THAN HEARING. THIS IS WHY I WOULD RATHER BE DEAF THEN BLIND.

I would choose to lose all my hearing, because then at least you can see what is going on around you. It would be really hard losing your hearing because it would be really hard to learn. But, if you lost your sight it would be way harder to live your life. Another reason I picked to lose my hearing is because at least you can watch T.V. if it has those words printed on the bottom of the screen, and very importantly, you can still play video games. My life would change because it would be hard understanding what was going on around you if you can’t hear, and it would be so hard to grow up and live a normal life. THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would take the choice of no hearing. Beacuse I would be able to see his evil laire. Pluse I would get him mad when he would try to tell me something. I could also get extra credit for learning sighn language. I would be able to see the amazing graphics from asome videogames and watch football games with my dad. I would be able to help my brother with his homework and I wouldn't hear my mom to do my chores. When my sister laughs or says something stupid I would be so happy not to hear it. But I'am blessed by God to have all my sences.

Anonymous said...

I would choose no sense of sound because I could just learn sign language. Theres no substitute for seeing plus maybe some awsome genius guy could invent a super-duper hearing aid. If my mom told me to do something I wouldn't do it because I can't hear her :-) But I doubt the magician wold capture me because then I would call Harry Potter and he be like sasashwa and I would be free but if Harry Potter was like saving someone more important like the president...your mom my mom then I would definitley choose to loose hearing.

Anonymous said...

I would choose no hearing because then I could still wath T.V. I could then learn how to read mouths and sign language. One thing I would miss from not hearing would be my friends or teachers voices because most teachers read with enthusiasm. Things that would change would be not being able to listen to directions or listen to music. If I couldn't see anything I couldn't watch T.v. or even no where I would be going. I hope that will never happen to me or anybody else.

If I lost the ability to hear!
If I lost the ability to hear I would have to change my whole life! I wouldn’t be able to play any sports and I would probably need to have special tutors to teach me. I wouldn’t have much friends and I wouldn’t talk very well. I would hate not being able to hear but I can still see where I am and what’s going on. Not being able to hear would change my personality and appearance. It would be harder to figure tings out and live a daily life. It would change where I live, how I live, and where I go.

I would choose 0 hearing. I dont really need my ears. I wouldnt have to listen to people. I couldn't watch funny shows wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I wouldn't talk much because I wouldn't know what they were saying. I could talk back and not care what they said. I would not know when to stop in basketball. It would be fun so Fritz would not be so mean and swear. Even though a evil magician would get very hurt if they tried to capture me. It is my secret I am a trained master swordsman. MUHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I would choose not being able to hear. If you couldn't hear you could still read and play sports. You could just have people people right down on paper what they want to say to you, and then read it. I could also have my teachers and everybody I now and I learn sign language. I would not be able to learn the way normal kids do,but i could still see what is going on. I would be able to read, watch tvor anything else, and play sports if I learned a different way. I would not like not being able to hear. It would be difficult to live and communicate. My life would be different because because i would have to learn a different way ,and wouldn't be able to do alot of things.

Anonymous said...

I would probably choose not to hear anymore because even though I couldn't hear, I could still play sports, read a book, and horseback ride. The bad part would be that I could'nt talk to my family and friends and they could talk to me. Everyone would treat me different and I would'nt be able to hear myself or anyone else screaming and cheering at sporting events and pep rallys. And I could'nt hear the question if a teacher asked me to give an answer to a question. But I would still choose not to hear because you can't do a lot of stuff if you can't hear, but you CAN do a lot of stuff if you can't hear.

2 more things, 1.HI MISS MILLER!!!!! 2.HORSES RULE!!!!!!!!!!

If i had to choose not to hear because i would be able to do sports and drive i could see the tv i could ride a bike. You could just have people rite down things down on paper. I could also learn sign language an then i would have to have friends that speek sign language. I would not have to here what kind of home work that would be handed out in school unless the teacher knows sign language our if i had to go to a special school. That is why i would of choose not to hear and why i would not choose to not see.

Anonymous said...

If I had to pick I would pick to have no hearing. I would pick that because then I could still play tennis, volleyball, swimming, softball, piano, and saxophone. If I had picked losing sight I could also not be able to do the following things, coloring, playing on the computer, do my home work(that might be a benefit), use calculators, watch T.V,play saxophone or piano, play the sports listed above, READ, play my DS, walk or run easily, play board games, or any other games. My life would just about be terrible if that happened to me. I think people who have either of these things wrong with them that I feel sorry for them. They must feel left out when they see some of their friends doing things they can not do.

Anonymous said...

Hmmm...I would have to choose no hearing. You can see things like colors and shapes, but you can't hear them. You can hear important things like people and animal sounds, but it would be easier to see a picture of them. You and other people that you talked to would have to learn sign language in order for you to be able to communicate with them. It would be much easier to read and write if you could see, but not hear. You would have to go to a special school to learn sign language and where they use sign language to communicate. I could still play sports, read books, and watch TV. So, those are some reasons why I would rather loose my sense of hearing, and not sight.

Anonymous said...

I would choose to lose my sense of hearing. So I wouldn't hear my mom tell me what to do. I could still play sports and play videogames. I would try to find the magician and tell him to reverse the magic spell. A could always learn sign language or just not listen to any one. I also could read books go on the computer. I do not think I could live without hearing. I am happy this isn't going to happen and at least I could still talk to my friends and family members. Yours truly and still can hear ZACH.

Anonymous said...

I would rather lose my source of hearing because I could still watch T.V., do homework, play video games, and a whole bunch of stuff. I would learn to read sign language, and lip reading to hear. I would really have to change my life around a lot. It might be confusing to my friends and classmates and family, so they would have to learn it too. I think it would be hard to not see, because you would not be able to watch football, baseball, or soccer, and it would be hard to do school work. So that’s why I chose to not hear.

Hey everyone, for me this would be a very tough choice.
I think it would be very to not be able to talk to anyone.
But I could learn sign language so I would pick not being able to
hear. I would have to learn sign language and many sports would
be very hard or impossible to play. Some things I would miss would be
music, movies/TV being able to play sports, talking to my friends (with out sign language). I’d also probably have to switch schools/get home schooled. I think it be
very tough to not be able to hear.

Hi Miss Miller,
I would chose to lose my sense of hearing so when my mom tells me to clean my room I can't hear her. Also when she says to stop playing video games and go outside I won't hear her also. But the bad thing would be that I couldn't hear the T.V. The other not so good thing is if you were crossing the railroad tracks is you couldn't hear the train coming down the tracks so it woudn't be that pretty of a sight. Thats why it would be OK to be deaf.

I would rather lose my sence to hear cause then Ill just be able to read what Im supposed to hear. And I need to see to be able to walk around. Im meen come on I cant memerize were I have to walk, although I guess the poeple in the City Of Ember need to, but We have lights all the time. But then we can have black outs during a storm at night and night be able to see but then it is your house, so iuess you cuold remember were you are walking in your own house. but Im talking about every were thats why I want to loose the ability to hear rather than going blind

Hmmm… This is a tough choice but I think I would choose not to lose my sense of hearing. Because if I lost my sense of sight of sight I wouldn’t be able to watch TV or play video games. I could not play sports or play with my friends. I would choose not to hear because I would get to learn to read peoples lips and learn sign language. It would really change my life by my mom, dad, brother, and sister would have to learn sign language to. It would affect how I do in school to. It would be a lot better if I didn’t have to choose to lose any of my senses.

THE END

I would rather lose my sense of hearing. Without sight I would not be able to go hunting. Without hearing I still can go hunting, I just need someone to point out the deer. I would not be able to hear the big boom when the gun goes off either. I would not be able to hear any sounds on video games but as long as they have words on the top of the screen I will be good. I would have to learn sign language and that would not be easy. Then everyone else would have to learn sign language.

Anonymous said...

First of all, I don’t like to imageine those kind of things. But since this is for a grade I guess I have to. I think I would choose being deaf. Since I already know how to read and write it might be easier to deal with. Plus I have always wanted to learn sign language. Although I love to watch movies, but I don’t think they have a lot of movies with captions, and I know when they have them on T.V. the words are usually spelled wrong. I would also have to have a translator with me at all times or learn to read lips. But that is very, very, very, hard. So I guess no matter what I chosse it would be very, very, very, hard.

Anonymous said...

If I was captured by a evil magician and had a choice of either loosing my sight or being deaf I would rather be deaf because then I could still kind of be able to play sports. If I was blind I would freak myself out. But if I was deaf I would'nt really be able to talk to my friends or listen in school. I also would'nt be able to hear cool noises or meet new people. I would probably have to take sign language and have other people I know take sign language if they wanted to talk to me. And thats probably what it would be like if I was deaf.

Anonymous said...

I would probaly want to lose my hearing instead of sight. Many people without sight can't see things that matter the most to them. For example, some parents who are blind will never see their children, family or friends.THATS HORRIBLE!Being deaf can be difficult for some people, but it's alot easier then being blind.Look at Elliot Yamin!!He's deaf in 1 ear,but can still sing like a hip Josh Groban!!(I LOVE ELLIOT YAMIN & JOSH GROBAN!!!!)If I was blind I wouldn't be able to see my little brother smile. Some other restrictions:I wouldn't be able to play soccer, see my family, walk, run, skip,or hop on my own,see the sunset or the beautiful autumn colors, watch movies, football games, soccer games, baseball games,or b-ball games, play the piano, read, write, bake, cook, see my family, friends, teachers, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, mom, dad, sisters, brother,or godparents, light a candle, find my stuff,or even make my bed!!!When your blind you are pretty much limited to everything. So every day I remind myself how blessed I am to have a healthy family.COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Hmmm....I would have to go with no hearing, because you can communicate with people better then if you were blind.Plus you could see every thing thats going on in the world!!!!,like the news, were you go to school, your friends, and if I couldn't see I wouldn't be able to run cross country!!!!!!,(and that would be bad)!! I also wouldn't like to be blind because you would have to do every thing differently like you would have to learn how to read brail and how to get around places with out tripping on somthing and falling. That is why I think not being able to hear is better.

Anonymous said...

I would rather lose my sense of hearing. There are many reasons why. I could not go mountain biking or biking. I also could not be in cross country, track, basketball, tennis, softball, and baseball. That would stink because I love all those things. Then I can watch T.V. and read and write too. It wouldn't make much sense to lose my sight because I already have hearing loss in my left ear. I would also want to lose my hearing because then it's nice and quiet for doing my homework, reading and when I go to bed. But it would also stink because people could be saying stuff about you when they walk past. For one thing how did we get captured by an evil magician in the first place and why did he give us the choice?

Anonymous said...

I would rather lose my sense of hearing than lose my sense of sight because then I could still go on the computer see what I am doing than to hear what I am doing. I could also watch T.V. I just couldn't see it. I could also still do sports like basketball, volleyball, and softball because I could see what i was doing I just couldn't hear what was going on. I could also see what my friends and family where doing. I could also then see my cousins and relatives so that when we get together for holidays. That is what I would choose.

Anonymous said...

I would choose the one with no hearing. Then I could play video games. If I would of picked that I lost my seeing I could not see what I was doing in a game. I could still drive ATV’s, dirtbikes, ect. Then if I went to Zachs house’s I could still do a nerf war, because if I would of choosed no seeing I couldn’t see were I am shooting. I could still play sports like football. I could have been guarterback or widereciever cause then I could catch the ball. That is what I would choose between no hearing or no seeing.

Anonymous said...

i would rather lose my hearing than lose my sight because If I lose my sight I would be able to play out side, play sports like basketball, soccer, and volleyball. But there are disadvatages of losing your hearing because you could not hear people talking to you and you could also not hear talking instructions. But you still can do cool things without hearing hear are some other things you can do without hearing doing homework. If I lost my hearing I could not see my relitives, see my friends, see my pets, see my e-mails, I also couldn't see where i was going anytime. Thats why I would chose losing my hearing instead of losing my sight.

Anonymous said...

I would rather lose my hearing rather than losing my sight. Because my hearing is already kind of bad, but my sight is very good. I am good at observing things,I think I could learn sign language fast.If I lost my sight I wouldn't see the beutiful things of the world,I wouldn't see my family, friends,or the things I like. I like to look at the things
in the fall like Halloween dacorations we put up, I like to look at the Christmas decorations thats why I rather lose hearing than losing my sight. The End

Anonymous said...

If I was captured be a evil magician I would tell him that I rather lose my hearing because then if something was really loud I couldn't here it and I don't need to here my older sister yell. And I would like to see because a could still play video games and also see all my friends and family and I could still watch and play football. I also wouldn't have to listen to all those annoying cell phone rings. And I could still see Disney would and all the attractions there. And thats why I would tell the magician that I rather lose hearing then sight. THE END

Anonymous said...

I'm having a hard time choosing which one.If I was blind,I couldn't play football, which I like to do in the fall.I wouldn't be able to pitch for my baseball team in the summer.I wouldn't want to depend on people to get around, and I wouldn't be able to get my drivers license when I turn 16.I wouldn't be able to ride my bike, and I might walk into a pole because I coudn't see it.On the other hand if I was deaf,I wouldn't be able to play my guitar or listen to my CD's.If I was driving,I couldn't hear if a police car was trying to pull me over.If I was at a Brewer game not paying attention,I wouldn't be able to hear anyone yelling that a foul ball was coming at my head.So I'm sorry I can't choose.I'm glad I don't really have to choose.

I would rather lose my hearing then my sight, because hearing can be fixed with a hearing aid, sight can not be fixed that easily. I would think if I was still able to see I could imagine the sound of something I see. I would still be able to see my loved ones and communicate either on paper or by learning sign langauage. I still can see my friends, it could be fun for everyone to learn how to sign so we all could communicate. No one could make fun of me because I can still see.
