Share a special Christmas tradition that your family does every year. Be sure to give lots of details! (For example, maybe your family goes out into the woods and cuts down a tree with all of your cousins, aunts, and uncles.)

For my dad's side of the family we do a gift exchange. So one person makes a list for everybody including the parents for a gift exchange. The kids are only allowed to spend 30 dollars the parent 50. It is very fun because you get to go shopping for your family and you get one extra present by doing it. On my mom side of the family there are not many kids so we can't do the same thing as my dads side. The thing we do is a parent game where they all bring any random gift and they all get numbers if your number one you pick any present and it keeps on going on like that until you reach the last number. But one thing is that you can steal someones gift but that gift can only be stolen twice then whoever gets that one gift has to keep it cause no one else can take it away. Those are some Christmas traditions.

My family doesn't really have any Christmas traditions. Each year we go to my Grandma and Grandpa Blanks house on Christmas Eve. We normally eat and then open presents, the parents pick name to see who gets a present for who. The only presents I get from there are from my Grandma and Grandpa, normally it will be a Gameboy Game my mom bought and gave to them to give to me. Then on Christmas Day we go to Grandma and Grandpa Hilgendorf's house. The whole family is there and we all have fun together. I think my mom's side of the family is much closer that my dad's side. As soon as the whole family is there we get the food all heated up and eat. Since there are soo many of us the kids eat first. My grandparents have many grandchildren but each year more and more of them are eating with the adults. The only people at the childrens table are Dani:), Brad, My Cousins Heidi, Andrew, Melissa, Jordan, and occasionally Mason and Maddie(my two second cousins). Each year we have my grandma's rolls for lunch, they are the best! We also have my mom's carrots and corn, swiss steak, jello, schaumtorte(don't rely on that being spelled right!!!), and her Christmas cookies(YUMMY!!!). After we eat the adults eat and then the kids do the dishes. Then we go by the Christmas tree and start opening presents. Normally I am the one handing out presents because my mom talks me into it and i am the youngest(besides mason, 3, and Maddie, 1). Since i am the youngest i am also the one on the floor because we do not have enough chairs. I am the only grandchild still getting presents from everyone because everyone else is in highschool or higher. After that we go to the living room and watch more tv, this is normally when my grandpa, a very generous man, gives out envelopes to all his grandchildren(12 total) that have $50 in them. He not only gives us that, but he gives all his grandchildren presents as well. This year my cousin Heidi and I are going to help my grandma make her Christmas cookies(only made at Christmas-what a treat to have them!!!). I hope we can make plenty of extras so i can have some at home, they are the best!!! Two small flower tasting cookies sprinkled with sugar held together by homemade frosting, you tell me anything that tastes better!!

There's sssoooo many. First off, we always go out to Pewaukee to the Country Spring Hotel to see the Christmas lights. It's sssooo beautiful. Then we always go to my grandma and grandpa's to have a BIG Christmas party. They always buy each grandchild 5 gifts! Not to mention the other ones from aunts and uncles. THAT'S A LOT OF GIFTS!!!! Then we go to Alioto's for a big Christmas dinner. And we go on a big shopping spree every year at Mayfair mall with my friend, Natalie. And we always go to the Grafton parade. IT'S SO MUCH FUN!!!! Then, on Christmas day, we do the classic, open gifts. And these are all of my family traditions for the holidays. HAPPY HOLIDAYS MS. MILLER!!!!

Once every year our family plays some type of Christmas game. It is usally Christmas Bingo. But this year Luke Emily and I are going to make a Version of Christmas Scene It. Christmas Bingo is a game our family has been playing for many many years. This how we play:each person has a bingo card with different Christmas pictures like a snowmen or a stocking and someone has a jar filled with a exact pictures on the cards. This person is called Santa's helper or Mr. or Mrs. ELF. If you win you get to pick a prize from a box. But they are completly wrapped in newspaper. So you may not know what you get.

For Christmas I usually go to my Grandma and Grandpas house to see all my cousins(all boys except one girl whos two years old). When I'm thare I get alot of presents, some I like and some that lets just say are different. We play games and eat alot of my grandmas home made food.Around Christmas time we also decorate the house inside and out with lights and cool decorations. Me and my mom also make cookies while listing to christmas music. This year for christmas break were going to Florida, its going to be so so fun!!!!!!

Every year, my relatives from Iowa (Aunt Ann, Uncle Tom, Bennett, EMILY!!!, and Nick) come to visit. Then, we make cookies and decorate them with frosting and sprinkles and stuff like that. We always open gifts on Christmas Eve from each other and then we open presents from Santa (Wink Wink) on Christmas Day/Morning. After opening presents we usually either just stay home or go downtown Cedarburg. Sometimes in downtown Cedarburg, we go to Glaze and paint things. We always have lots of fun at Glaze! My cousin Emily and I always play our DS’s together, play on the computer, or having wrestling matches with Bennett and Nick. The night of Christmas Day, we always have a big, fancy dinner at my grandma’s house and eat all the cookies that we made before. It’s always sad when Christmas is over and my cousins have to leave, but then we look forward to another fun Christmas together.

Miss Miller...On my blog it says "or having wrestling matches with Bennett and Nick"...but it should say "or have wrestling matches with Bennett and Nick"

On Christmas Eve, the whole gang and I,( my family),head over to my Grandma and Grandpa Twietmeyer's to have Christmas Eve dinner, recieve and give a couple gifts, exchange stories, and lounge by the fire. It's usually just my sibling's,parent's and I there because all my Twietmeyer cousins and uncle's and aunt's live in either Michigan or Pennsylvania! So they only come and visit once or twice a year.We usually eat dinner around 6 and boy is it a FEAST!Mashed potatos, turkey, gravy, veggies, biscuits, crosaunts, cranberries, fruit salad, and alot more. There are also fresh cookies and mint icecream for desert.Oh, and before dinner we open stockings full of unique odds and ends.So after stuffing ourselves to the limit,we listen to Christmas music and open gifts. When it's time to go, we sit and watch the snow fall( if it's snowing!)in my grandparents deck and neighborhood. They live in a beautiful suburb called Georgetown Avenue and it look's just so cool at 9:30 at night with the street lamp's on and snow twirling and glistening down from the dark sky above. Then you inhale the crisp, sharp December air and you stop think how beautiful it is,but then your thought is so rudely inturrupted by your little sisters running crazily out the door ,all sugared up and babbling about Santa and Rudolph.Well, atleast thats how it is for me!
On Christmas morning, my sister Hannah and I share a room so we wake each other at around 5:30 and look over our banister to see the
tree with present galore under neath it.But the rule is that we can't go down stairs till 7:00,and can't open present's untill every person in the house is awake and grandparent's arrive which is around 8:30-9:00ish.So to pass the time we eat the ever famous and traditional Christmas Kringle Danish Coffee Cake thing and sit by the fire. Then our grandparent's arrive and we do the usual, OPEN GIFT'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So after the wrapper tearing and paper terminating we try out our gift's and leave at around lunchtime to go my mom's parent's side, the most awesome and crazy family ever,Grandma and Grandpa Wayne J and Judy Hosmanek with family listed as followed:Uncle Dwayne and kids Brandon and Nicole,Uncle Darrel and Aunt Sharon with kid's Nick and Brit, rarely Uncle Doug because he lives in Portland,Oregon with a awesome occupation as a drummer in two local bands,Pillow Fight and Death Valley,Great Aunt Joani, and US!!!!So we spend Christams Day there and have a blast!!The guy's get sporty stuff, guns, pocket knifes, air rifles, and boxes of shells while the girls get arts and crafts, gift cards, make up,jewelry, purses, and a bunch of little things! This year I'm hoping to get my Uncle Dwayne's old red snare drum.He was such a good drummer that he played with the claasisc 80's band,Todo! And for a special tradition, my Grampa wayneJ gets a big, fat, disgusting smoked salmon!Yuck! It usually still has it's eye's in!But there are so many great memories that come out of the best holiday ever,CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!

A tradition my family does every year is set up our artificial Christmas tree together. First you have to take the branches and spread out the pines so they’re all pointing different directions then you stick the branches on the trunk or base according to color or length. Next you take the lights and wrap them around the Christmas tree so there are about 7 lights to a branch. Finally we put on the ornaments (we have around 400). That is one of our traditions. Another tradition is to go to my Grandmas house for Christmas Eve. Usually we celebrate my Uncles birthday that night too because he was born on Christmas. Those are my family traditions.

We always go and get the christmas tree as a family. we switch off visiting families every year. we always have a huge german meal with all my cousins, aunts, uncles, grama and grampa. my grama makes the beat cookies you will ever eat!! When we open presants we always play christmas music. When we also open presants we open them one by one from youngest to oldest. than we all open our stockings. i love to be with my families at christmas. I will pray for the soldiers that will be in Iraq for the holidays. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! God Bless You!

A tradition that my family does is we normaly exchange gifts with all my cousins on my mom's side of the family. We will sit and talk for a good while and then eat our Christmas dinner in the living room. When we are talking we normaly listen to christmas music. We normaly have it at our house. It's alot of fun. My cousins Eric and Jeremy and me all have a tornement in Madden 2008. We each pick two teams and then play each other. My other cousins goof around and play with my sister and play games. It is so much FUN!!!!! On my other side of the family we normaly go to my Uncle's house or my Grandpa's house. We all buy gifs for every body. All my cousins on my Dad's side of the family are Dylan,Derek,Nikky, and Andrea(Any). From my Mom's side of the family is Eric,Morgan,Jeremy,Cale,Jamie, and Tasha. And those are some of my Families traditions. I always have fun and like geting gifts from my hole Family and worshiping my GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don’t have a lot of traditions in our family so my brother had to help me out. We go to my grandma’s house every Christmas eve. I always feel really weird because nobody really dresses up and I’m stuck in my Christmas dress. We used to have a Clapham Christmas party. At the end of every party somebody would draw a name to see whose house we would go to next year. The funny part about it is that if the party was at your house you got to pick a day the party was on. Now, I’m not talking about pick a day in December, I’m talking about any day of the year! I remember one time when we had the party in July! Anyway, a couple of years ago somebody forgot to have the party, which meant we didn’t pick another name. Well, so much for that tradition!

hi miss miller,
the biggest tardition in my family is having the whole family with us going to 11pm candle light service at st.puals. we meet my godfather before the service. our whole family goes to the service. then when we get home santa has already been there. we then open our presents. next we sleep in on christmas moring. what's funny about this is tha my grandmother who lives in fredonia always calls and can never figure out why we don't answer. this is my biggest tardition for christmas. I love my christmas tardition with my whole family. And JESUS was born on christmas so, we celebrate his b-day too.

Every Christmas Eve I go to Church with all of my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. After That my family drives to my Grandma Barelmann's house and party. First we wait for every one to get there. Then we take pictures of each family. we somtimes play a game or watch T.V., maybe both. We wait for a while eat snacks watch T.V. and talk together. Then we open presents. Each cousin gets a stocking filled with things from my grandma and grandpa. We also get one present from them. Then we open our presents from our sponsors. After that, all the parents bring a gift to exchange. The game changes each year. We eat some more and play with what we got. We also then have FUN.

My Christmas Traditions are that Santa Claus doesn't put our stuff in our stoking. He would put it in our shoes. The night that Santa comes my mom will throw rocks at the roof to make it sound like someone is one the roof. We always bake cookies with my aunt or grandma (on my mom's side). We also have a real tree every, we decorate it with this like poker set or we put dog stuff on. We always have dinner at my grandmas on the night before Christmas. We have hand made stockings that my aunt made us with our name on them. We always have my aunt, cousins, and my grandparents over from my mom’s side only because my other grandparents hate my brother and me. They never call to say happy birthday or to say merry Christmas but they can go and by gifts for there other grandkids.

Every Christmas on Christmas day my cousins come over and spend the day with us. My cousins are young so we usually take them sledding or something like that. We also always go to the Christmas day church service and we open presents. So during the day we take them around and like I already said, we go sledding. They usually spend the night in my sister’s room and in the morning we do pretty much the same thing the next day. We also always have a special breakfast the morning of Christmas just with my family, and then we will open presents and continue on with our day.

Dear Miss Miller,
Every Christmas we take the tree down from the atitic and all the ornaments with it. We also take down a train mthat is 50 years old. We put the tree in the holder and set up the train around the tree, all of this we do a week before Christmas. Then later that day I go with my Aunt to make gingerbread houses. I take usally all the frosting. Then I come home and my mom hids the pickel in the tree. If you find it you get an extra 10 presents. My grandma copmes over on Christmas day and helps me open my presents. I get all together about 25 good presents from Santa.(A.K.A Mom and Dad). That is my Christmas tradition.

Anonymous said...

Every Thanksgiving we set up the tree and watch the Macy’s day parade. Then when we put on the decorations we examine each one very close and remember when we got them or made them. Then we put up a gigantic Santa head above our fireplace. My favorite part is when we set up a tiny village. Every year we buy a new piece for it. Every year since I was like five, we buy chocolate calendars. Those are calendars that every day you find the date on the calendar and you take the chocolate of the day out of it. Every Christmas we also go to my neighbors house and then go to church and come home to presents.

Are family tradition is that we go to are grandma's house on christmas eve and sometimes are cousins might come over with are aunt and uncle but last year they didn't come. But we still give are presents to each other for christmas and we get some from are cousins and other family members. Then we have dinner there to we usualy have chicken and vegetables. Then we leave to go home and then we would get up and go down to open present then are grandma comes over to are house to eat breakfast and then we all go to church with each other and after that grandma leaves and we just play with the stuff we got for christmas and enjoy christmas break

Anonymous said...

We have Round-robin every year. This is where everyone in are family and just about everyone related to us goes around to each other’s houses handing out the presents and the food and the refreshments. For example: we would start at my house and hand out the presents, food, and refreshments. Then we would go to someone else’s house and they would do the same thing. Hand out presents, food, and refreshments. We usually went around to about 5 different people’s houses. It was so much fun. But now we all go to someone’s house and they bring their presents to give and we bring ours. So now its all at one house but it’s still a whole lot of fun.

Anonymous said...

My chistmas is actually on Thanksgiving, but that does not stop our traditions.Fist we all get settled in,watch the Packer game, and then play some games. Then at half time we pick numbers on what order to pick the presents, then we open preaents in number order. Then we watch the rest of the Packer game, then we say grace and eat.So later we play "find the Pickle",it is a green pickle ornament, and if we find the pickle we get money or a prize.Later we say a last Thanksgiving Prayer and leave. So this is my families traditions and they are awsome.
THE END

My family usually goes to steins and gets a christmas tree and decorates it with all of these ordainments from ones I made to ones we bought. And we usually always go to my Grandmas house on christmas eve and then after we are done their we come home and the next morning we either go to my uncles or my Grandpas we also have dinner there and I get to play with my cousins and get to see my family. I also enjoy getting presents for people I like to see the look on their faces. We also usually watch some kind of Christmas movie, and that is what I do during Christmas.

My family’s Christmas is almost always different. Every year my whole family (Moms Side) goes to either my house, or my uncle and aunts house on Christmas Eve. One of my favorite things about holidays is I see a lot of my relatives who I only see like 3 or 4 times a year. Well back to the point so the after whole family goes to church we all go to one house or the other. We have dinner, play some games, just talk, and open gifts from each other. Its a lot of fun, I remember last year we went to my aunt and uncles old house and so we (me and my family and other aunt and uncle and cousins) didn’t get back to my house until like 1:00 in the morning, we looked at the clock and were pretty surprised and then everyone started saying merry Christmas to each other. On my Dads side we go to my Grandpa and Grandma’s house on Christmas day sometimes on the morning on the day before Christmas and sometimes see my aunt, uncle and cousins from Iowa. We hang out, open gifts, and eat snacks. Also we make cookies and drink eggnog.Well that’s some of my Christmas traditions.

Anonymous said...

We don’t have many Christmas traditions but one of them is that our family and my sister and brother’s “friends” come over on Christmas Eve and open just the sister and brother presents. On Christmas morning we open the mom and dad presents in the afternoon we go to my grandmas (my mom’s side of the family) We usually eat, take a walk, eat pie talk and wash dishes while the kids are playing games, then we open presents. We have some other little traditions and some of these are, putting our Christmas tree up together, going to church on Christmas Eve, keeping a little calendar/chalkboard that says how many days till’ Christmas, we also do Saint Nick(Wink Wink) and that is fun!!

Anonymous said...

We have many traditions in our family for Christmas! One is pick out the Christmas tree together and decorating it with our family while having the TV on or Christmas music on. We also put our stockings on our doors instead of our fireplace, on Christmas day, the sister’s wake up and together go to our parent’s room wake them up and see what is in them. It takes quit a time waking everyone up, and the rule is we can’t look in the Family room where our tree is because of the fact some our parents put more under the tree at night that are big. Then we open presents in order from youngest to oldest. Those are, our bigger traditions for Christmas.

Anonymous said...

We have lots of Christmas traditions with our family. One is around Thanksgiving each girl picks a girl name out of a hat and each boy picks a boy out of the hat. This happens on my mom's side of the family. Normally all of us end up finding out who has our name. (There are 16 kids on my mom's side). We also have our Sponsers give us gifts and Grandma and Grandpa Helm. Then around Christmas all the parents on my mom's side go out to dinner(usually to a fancy place). While they are gone all 16 kids stay with Grandma and Grandpa and have pizza. It is usually fun. Then just with our family we open gifts from brothers and sisters on Christmas Eve. On Christmas morning we open presents and go to church later like 10:10 or 10:30. Those our some of our Christmas Traditions.

Anonymous said...

Every year during Christmas time is that we set up our Christmas decorations first, this year I set up the nativety seen. Then we set up our Christmas tree down stairs and decorate it with stuff from movies. Then we put our main tree up stairs in the living room with a ski village at the base. We decorate it with thousands and thousands of Santa ortaments. Then Josh and I go over to my grandma's house and help her decorate her Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve we go to Church and celebrate Jesus's birth. After Church we drive around and look at Christmas decorations on other houses. Then we go to my grandma's house and sing happy birthday to Jesus and then we open presents from each other. Then we dinner, go home, go to sleep, dream of suger plumes dancng in our heads, wake up, and we run down to open our presents! Then we go to Church and celebrate Christmas. Thats Christmas with the Rotters, now Halloweens a different story.

One of my families traditions are is that the adults exchange gifts. On Christmas my family never has a real lunch we just have a lot of snacks. The kids in our family get presents from everybody in our family not just from one person. You have to be wearing your Christmas outfit when you go there but later after pictures you can change into pajamas or other clothes. Our family always has a lot of fun. My cousin Alex always comes up from Arkansas for Christmas so we get to see more than just once a year. These are some of my family’s traditions.

Anonymous said...

I was sick so here it is. Every year we decorate the outside of our house in early December. In mid December we decorate the inside of our house with the Christmas tree and the smaller decorations. Later just around Christmas, my mom and I bake lots of cookies to bring to my grandma’s house on Christmas Eve. We go there first before anywhere else. Grandma Judi makes delicious food, and we go around in a circle and get one gift at a time. We open none that we the children give to our parents there. The next morning we go to church as a family, then go home and open our gifts around the tree listening to Manhime Steamroller. A little later(it depends when my aunts and uncles can come) we go to my grandparents house, eat dinner with my mom’s side of the family, and open the presents under the tree there. When we finally go its late and everyone’s tired.

My family christmas tradition is we always go over to my nana and papas house after we open gifts at our houses. and the adults pick names out of a hat and that adult has to get the name they picked out of the hat a present. on christmas then we find out who got whos name next year I get to join the family tradition. but then you only get one present at the house from a person. instead of everyone. but it helps me feel like I am a adult. And that is that, my families greatest christmas tradtion

Hello, my family tradition since we moved up to Wisconsin is that we take a long drive down to St. Louis about 7 1/2 to 8 hours. It is very tiring. We always put up a Christmas tree and hang up ornaments on it. We always put up the Christmas pickle. We always take a drive to look at Christmas lights I don’t like it so I bring a movie or something else to do. When we are at my Grandma’s house she makes us fat and forces us to eat something but we say we are full. These are my Christmas traditions.

We have lots of christmas traditions. Our first tradition is we go and get a tree. Then in a couple of days we decorate it. Then at christmas brake we go to our grandpa's house. We play with our cousins. I always get bored because no one does anything with me. Then the night before christmas we go to a church service. It is catholic. Then we go back to our grandpa's and open presents. Then we get dinner. We go to our cabbin and open presents there too. Then we go to our grandma's and open presents and play find the pickle. Then we go home.

Every Christmas me my mom and my sister all go out and buy a tree. We always have turkey or ham. Every Christmas Eve we get to open up one present. When we decorate our tree my mom , sister and me our the only ones who decorate it. My dad sets the tree up. All during Christmas day we watch the Christmas Story which is a movie they play all day. In the mourning my whole family opens the gifts from each other. We eat around 3:00 P.M. I always have hot chocolate every Christmas. That is what we do every Christmas.
