Freedom

With our Veteran's Day celebration last Tuesday and the letter that Mr. Riederer read in chapel from a member of our church in the military, we were reminded of the sacrifice made for our freedoms. Many men and women have died in the last 250 years to keep America a great country with many freedoms and rights. Write a letter to any serviceman or woman (you can make up a name) and thank him or her for the sacrifice made for our freedoms. Your letter can be specific to a veteran of a particular war (The Revolutionary War, The Civil War, WWI, WWII, The Vietnam War, The War in Iraq, etc...) or it can just be a letter thanking the veteran for all of the freedoms you have. Be specific when you thank him/her and tell him/her the rights and freedoms you are most grateful for and why(the freedom of religion, speech, the freedom from slavery, etc...).
Here is a poem to inspire you:
It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the courtswho has given us the right to keep and bear arms
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician,Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN, who salutes the Flag, and serves under it.

Dear soilder-
Thank you for all of the sacrifices you have made. You didn't have to choose to go to war, but instead of thinking of yourself, you thought about our country's freedom. When I come home from school, and just go on my big, fluffy chair and watch Hannah Montana, or Drake and Josh, I think to myself "What the perfect life I have". But then I think of the people over in Iraq just like you. You probobly don't even have a TV. And when I'm in basketball, and my coach yells at me, I just think of how hard it is for you. All in all, I just want to say THANK YOU!!!!

Dear Solider
Thank you for defending our country. If it wasn’t for you I might not be here right now. You have saved many lives you have fought for our freedom and rights like the freedoms of religion, press, speech, fair trial and to vote. I will never forget what you have done for the United States of America you are truly a hero. Not every solider gets the individual respect they deserve and you do deserve great respect. sometimes when I think of the solders fighting don’t have the casualties that we have I fell bad. We have family while you sit fighting war and knowing at any given second you could die. Thank you. ☺

To Grandpa and Uncle Bob (who were former soldiers),

Thank you for fighting for our freedom. It means a lot to me that you accepted the call. I can’t thank you enough. The meaning of “soldier” to me is simple: a hero. And that is what you are. You did something that most people can’t do, and that is to risk your lives. I do not think people understand how terrifying it was. Anyway, I’m glad your home safe now with your family. I’m sure it was hard leaving them in the first place. Thanks again for fighting for our country.

Dear all veterans, Thank you so much for making all of the sacrifices that you have. you didn't need to risk your lives for the people and the country that you love, but you were brave enough to do so. Because you did, we now have the luxuries of freedom of speech, no slavery and many other things everyone is greatful for, and thing s that would not have been possible to establish without you. you are the heroes of the world, and every person is in your dept. you have done what is right, risked your lives, and have given every person the chance at freedom. Every person is truly in your dept. Thank you!!!

Dear Bobby Jones,
I thank you for being in the Second World War and not giving up, for being out there in its worst and best. Loosing someone you knew almost everyday; you knew going out there could mean; getting hurt or worst killed. You obeyed the USA and you were strong for her too. Know you deserve the respect you gave to the red, white, and blue. Most people do not know it but the things we take for granted are the things people like you fight for, like Freedom to start, freedom of religion and speech, or voting. People like you have made people proud to live here in the US, but your and always will be a citizen.
Thank you oh so very much.

Dear Soldier,
Thank you so much for making all the sacrifices you had to. Everything you did means a lot to me! You are greatly appreciated because you risked your life just to make the U.S.A. a free country. It must have been terrible to have to leave your family and friends. You have now given us freedom of speech, religion, the press, freedom to vote, and so much more. It must have been frightening being in the army and knowing that you could get killed. So, thank you SO much for being brave and making the U.S. a free country that we live in today.

Dear Soldier,
Thank you! you have made an impact on my life so much. Just think i could be here watching my favorite TV show while you would be in a different country fighting for freedom! Thank you, that means so much to me knowing that you put others before yourself and nobody else can be what you were to me right now. no one could take that away from you. And it is a plan that God put you in that position, and to still be here today is a gift from God! I hope I can be like you someday! Thank You and God Bless!

I also want ot say thank you for freedom of religion, speech, and slavery. Those are just a tiny bit of what you fought for. I think that freedom of religion is the most important because if we wouldn't of fought for that we would be forced to do certain things we wouldn't want to do and maybe even have to worship idols. But you changed all of that just by saying i will for my family, others, and for God. Thank You for that. I give you much respect. Thanks and God Bless You!

Dear solider,
Thank you for defending our country. The must have been intense put you pulled through it and helped save our country by defending it. You fellow soldier have saved many lives and fought for freedom like freedom of slavery, press, speech, religion, fair trial and vote. I will never forget what you have done to save U.S.A. and that is what makes you a hero. I respect you in everything you do and others should too. When I think about war I think of violence and then the American flag waving on a rock with soldiers on the rock with pride and one of them is you standing there with pride. You could have died but you never gave up to save our country and you lived succeeding it. Thank you ☺;)

You and all the other soldier's are amazing beyond word's because of all the life-saving deed's and sacrafice's you made for our country and liberty and last but not least, justice. I have written letter's to soldier's before and I also wrote one to you too!
I love doing that because I get this happy feeling, I don't know,it's hard to explain,it's just a personal feeling like I had just made someone smile. I LOOK UP TO YOU AND YOUR BRAVERY AND WISH I COULD BE LIKE THAT SOME DAY. I THINK ABOUT YOU AND REALIZE THAT YOU ARE HELPING TO PROTECT ME, MY 3SISTER'S AND 1 BROTHER, AND MY MOM AND MY DAD AND ALL MY OTHER FAMILY. YOU ARE JUST SO COOL AND I HOPE IMAKE YOU SMILE WITH THIS LETTER. SO I AM PRAYING FOR THE SOLDIER'S EVERYNIGHT AND I HOPE AND PRAY THAT THE WAR END'S SOON!

Dear solider,
I would really love to see some of the battles and understand more about the life and time you went through to succeed in what you have done for our country. I think everyone should really appreciate what you’ve done, but some just take it for granted like God just blessed us with this gift and we didn’t have to work for it. God did bless us with this but you still had to work very hard for it. We people only like the luxuries and don’t have to work for them because they don’t have to and they have other people do it for them. You have put you forward your lives for our country and I thank you for that

Dear Soldier,
Thank you for sacrificing your life for our freedom. You decided to go in a unsafe place away from your family and friends to save our nation. You are so brave. Because of you we now have freedom of religion, freedom of press, freedom of speech and many other freedoms. Thank you so much for what you have done for us a country who just wanted to be free. I am most thankful for the freedom of speech and religion because if there weren't freedom of religion we would not be able to believe what we want to. The other one that I am most thankful for freedom of speech because then we wouldn't be able to say and do what we want. Thanks

Dear Veteran,

I cannot say how grateful I am that you fought for our country so that we can be free. You are someone who I would look up to as a hero. I really appreciate that you made it possible for all the different freedoms that we have, especially freedom of religion. Because of you we can worship God, wherever, and whenever we want to. We can also have the right to vote for who we want for our next president, or for another leader. Also, we can say what we think to other people without getting in trouble. Thank you so much for serving our country, and for making life better to live.

Dear Soldier.
With the heart God gave you, and the mind to serve our country, we thank you for serving our country. The bravery you had that you could have lost your life at any second, and to leave your family is something I could never do. You sacrificed your life for our country, and I think that there is nothing more rewarding to survive the war you were put through. It’s also sad that you have lost many close people like friends, relatives, or even parents to the war. All I can say is thank you. I thank you and our country thanks you.

It was very important for you to do what you did if you didn’t, our country and everyone init might not exist. You put your self in danger to protect America. You experienced many bad times and have many bad memories from war. You constantly worked hard and fought for the freedom of America. You missed your families and your families missed you. You were also brave enough to go to war. You will be remembered forever because you fought to protect what you loved. Once again thank you veterans, God bless you.
