Hurricane Katrina

What do you think we can do to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina? Why do you think such horrible things as hurricanes happen?

Storms happen. This one was pretty bad, sunday I went up north and went to another church, the paster mentioned that some people in that church thought that this was a sign of Jesus. I think that maybe but wouldn't that happen when no one would think that or does that bible passage mean something diffrent? The storm inspiered and killed lots of people. Yet no tree fell on the statue of Jesus in the french quarter (I saw it before the hurricane) so once again this proves a lot of stuff. How we can help problely by donating money through chapel or other ways but it seems the whole nation seems to rise to this challange I hope they are doing a good job of helping. I hope they succsed

Dear Miss Miller,
I was watching the news and the reporters were talking about the disaster that Hurricane Katarina left behind. When it hit me I almost forgot your website. Well, anyway back to the Hurricane.
I thought of other ways to support the victims of the Hurricane. The students and familie could offer money through chaple offerings.
Asking for donations through the church Harvest Bazaar. We could also ask for donations on the FIL website. The students could advertise in the News Graphic, or other newspapers. We could also donate old clothes and toys that are still good. Well those are my thoughts.
Thanks for your time,
Marshall

I think this was a terrible storm. My parents have friends near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Their shingles came off of their house and tree branches were everywhere. They said it is very frustrating. They have to wait in line a long time to get gas. The stores do not have much in stock right now because of the high volume of people coming from New Orleans. Their son and daughter-in-law are living with them right now. They only had their house for a month. They lost everything in the hurricane. They are thankful that everyone is alive and well. My parents are thankful that they are ok and they worried about them. They have been friends with them for about 34 years.

Storms just happen. That is how God made the world. If i was living in New Orleans as soon as i heard of the storm i would find a family member and ask them i could come there for a couple days or years. If i was living in New Orleans and i did not have internet or t.v. and i got stuck in the storm i would go into my basement or if i didn't have a basement i would go to a very safe place and pray to God that he would keep everyone same from this storm!!

Dear Miss Miller,
I think that the storm was a very tragic thing. But there is really nothing we can do to stop them from happing. But we can give money to charity and most importantly we can pray for them.If I was in this istuation I would have evaqated. If I did not have money I Could call a friend or family member to see if I could stay with them.We also have to under stand that God had a reason for it.Why we won't know we will probibly never know. Untill we get to heaven. So thats all Bye!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss the old days, pretty mature comments for 6th graders ;) Hurricane Katrina lives on in our memories as a disaster, but God will is done through everything it's unavoidable and unstoppable, awesome power!
