Reflections of Giving

Note: This blog is for extra credit only! Next week we will be back to our usual, assigned blog entry.

Reflect upon the experience of meeting the family our class sponsored for Christmas on the last day of school. Tell about what you saw and heard that was heart-warming or showed gratitude. How did you feel, being able to give all of the gifts to the family? What did you enjoy about meeting them?

The family was overwhelmed with all the gifts. Sara was so excited when she unwrapped the boombox. She had the biggest smile I've ever seen on her face. When the boy opened the guitar he was so excited. He wanted to try it out right away. I could tell that they were very thankful because of the prayers that they said. It felt really good to help a family who had so little. It was surprising at how little they really had. I enjoyed meeting them a lot because I like to help others and it just felt really good to help someone who needed it.

when Miss. Miller said that we were going to give presents to the family, I did'nt think that ther were gonna be as many presents as ther were. The family was a little shy at first, but when sarah opened her present, I could tell that they were gonna have a really good Christmas after all.I could'nt belive that the boombox made her so happy. It was very cool when I saw her face, and her voice was so exsprecional after she opend that. she screamed when she found out she got that. It was very exiting when the kids opened ther presents and I hope that they will get another joyful christmas next year too

I think they were very appreciated that we took the time to help them this Christmas. Of course I did not think that there would be that many. I was even a little surprised but when I saw the expression on there face I knew it was worth it. I think they really liked there presents and I think the bible and devotions will help them become stronger believers. Sarah and Joshua said nice prayers and it should that they believed in the Lord. I can not wait to do something like that next year if we do it again.

I had a lot of fun and I loved it when they would open the presents they would have a smile on their face. It just warmed my heart to see how much fun they were having. I heard a tiny little scream when the oldest girl opened the boom box. I also loved giving presents to all of the kids I still felt good even though some of the kids weren’t there to open their presents but they still got to open them at home. I enjoyed it very much when we were taking the kids around the school with their bikes and I was having fun while others were probably having fun too.

Giving to the family was great. It made me so happy to see them so happy. I can't believe they never had a bike before. All they kept saying was "thank you, thank you". I got to help my mom bring the stuff down to the church and meet the family again. They were still saying thank you. Also, since they are from a different country so were so pround to be in America. They even got the flag out so it would be in the pictures. I also helped the kids learn how to ride their bikes. They were so happy. I am glad that we could help. I can't believe some people have so little.

The family seemed so thankful. I was so happy for them that they could actually have some nice new gifts. I was so excited for them when I just so their expressions on their face. Like when Sarah opened the cd player her smile just lite up the room. Also when the other kids opened their presents. My favorite part was probably teaching the kids ride their new bikes around the school. I really had a great time giving for once. If we can I would definately do it again. Oh I forgot I thought it was really nice seeing them pray for us. It kind of taught me a lesson on giving.

It was really nice to see the expressions on thier faces when they opened the gifts. The older girl was so happy to get the boom box and the older boy loved his guitar. I thought it was really nice of them to pray for us since they had nothing to give. I especially liked helping the older kids ride thier bikes around the school. They were all so happy. I also felt really bad for them and it made me think about how lucky I truly am. I thought it was a great way to start my Christmas Holiday and thiers.

When the family came we were all excited about it. It was kind of fun to see their facees light up with happiness. The second littlest one did not say much. I bet he was afraid of us. The littlest one always pushed a cart around full of stuffed animals. It was kind of cute becaue she had a giant dog hanging out of the front and a bunch of beanie babies in the seat. The older boy got lots of stuff like a guitar and other stuff. The older sister's mouth was hanging open when she got a boombox. It was kind of funny. Then we all brought the presants to the family life center. We all felt good helping them. Then we all said good by and left.
